Ride the dinosaur or save up $$$?

  1. I put a price watch on the Q9550 (LGA 775,) so if it drops below $250 I will get an email. I can post my specs later but I wanted to ask, if the price drops low enough on the Q9550 would you buy it? Then wait another year or two to upgrade and future proof at that time.

I am pretty sure I have an E6600 2.4, so the bump in performance would be noticeable. Will the new chips and prices be reasonable on the new architecture, in 3-6 months?

    What do you guys think?

  2. This is the problem with all of us PC gamers. When we buy new hardware that is new or close to new, its replaced with a new slightly shinier model. I would suggest buying it because it should last you a while and it should provide a good 2-3 years at least of decent use. I say go for it.

  3. It is 3-6 months before the new architectures even come out from right now ;)

  4. Wait til January imo

  5. This. Intel has some stuff up their sleeves soon.

Wait it out a bit more if you can.
