http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812999263 Thats the "Scythe USB-3FS-2 USB Foot Switch 2 Triple." This is a first impression review. Ok, Im going to split this into three categories. The Good: Its a triple Foot Pedal!!! I've been wanting one of these for a while. I could never find one that was less than a hundred bucks, until I checked newegg... doh! Sure enough, Scythe had three models: a one, two, and three pedal model. ranging from $35 to $50 bucks. I went for the three, obviously. I needed a good double pedal to use in various music programs to advance/reverse sheet music, run guitar effects, etc. etc.... This does it all. But, The reason it rocks (and why I'm reviewing it here) is because it works with teamspeak. Yep, I now have a foot switch to control my TeamSpeak just like my good ol days with a talkback mic in the old music studio. You program a keyboard keystroke combo into the software, save it to the pedal, and then it just works. Enough said. The Bad: Speaking of software, this is among the worst I've ever seen. You have to fiddle and there are no instructions. Its a "hit and miss" kind of thing. And the cd they cam on was literally a CD-R. with a paper label stuck on it.... ha! Way to go Scythe. But it worked and I'm happy. Also, the software is identical for the one two and three pedal model. It works for me, it should work for you no matter which you buy. Speking of buy, its discontinued by scythe due to uninterest by the consumer. But, seems newegg and other online retailers have plenty of New Old stock and you've got plenty of time to pick one up. The Ugly: While the rugged and rubberized pedals and metal pedal board (with tacky rubber feet!) are spectacular and even beautiful, the USB cable permanently attached is atrocious. Its flimsy, tiny, and brittle. I was afraid to just flick it out straight and plug it in. It was so bad, I carefully unwound the cable flat, ziptied it to the rackmount supports, and carefully plugged it in the computer I use some feet away. (I use a rackmounted case, long and completely unrelated story) .... that being said, there was plenty of cable available to accomplish this, however cheap it was. Long story short, its a way of creating a set of macros that you use with your foot. It does exactly what you would expect it to do, and at half the price of the competition- albeit with a few cut corners. Oh, and you can set it to click the mouse (left middle and right button,) which is very interesting. Turns out, some hardcore FPS'ers use these to have as an alternate way of firing a sniper rifle so they don't move the mouse when clicking... interesting in that next level geeky sort of way. The feature's original intended use was to help disabled people operate a mouse. Anyway, buy it , love it, decent product. If anything changes, I'll post it.
