Looking for editors and community managers for soon to be public Diablo III site. Editors: HTML skills preferred~ Will be in direct competition with diii.net, and aiming higher. Thank yous, Kira
Just curious why you would want to go after diii.net? They are pretty solid. Granted their forums can be pretty bad but overall for updates they seem to be the best I have found. They update the most often and faster then other fansites. They have connections (or seem too) since they have toured Blizzard Studios and had interviews Blizzard employees. All that being said, I would be willing to help in some form. I love Diablo.
KM: I'll see who I can dig up, right now podcasts and videos alike are an idea on paper while I get the rest of the game plan together. That being said, I do intend to pursue them in a big way. Valindria: diii.net is a good site. I pull a lot of my research from there. I do intend to provide unique updates and news, but a lot of that information comes from events/conventions/interviews. Since I just started working on taking a slice of the pie, I won't have immediate access to the information. In the meantime, the goal is to be better with what is available and build up a user base. The Diablo III site is presently in development. It hasn't been marketed to the public yet. Because of priorities I am taking a two week hiatus from development on that particular site so I can build up the rest of the network. There are several sections of the site that need to be completed, some of them are content related and some are PHP/template related that I still need to do. Some of the content that needs to be compiled, written and entered: Diablo Characters BlizzNews Skill Pages (short description, fill in a couple fields, and screenshot upload) Combat System The Forums still need to be skinned, but I will need a moderator for the forums as well down the road.
Cool. I have been adding updates to this thread for a couple years now: http://www.xoohq.com/forums/showthread.php?t=142
Well, I have experience with HTML, CSS, and javascript. Also, I'd be willing to volunteer some of my time to help out. If you want to discuss, send me a pm since I don't have regular internet set up at home yet.
Pheonix: Great, I will be in touch with you. Right now I am trying to figure out how I want to offer forums on the website(s), whether I use phpBB or WP-Forum. Both have benefits, though I haven't completed research yet. The idea here is to unify forum user data across more then one forum as the D3 site is part of a larger network. Epic: I will send you a PM soonish here, and perhaps we can set you up with content management and/or editorship?
PMs would probably work better for me as well. I can check the forums at work, but I will be away from my computer until at least Monday. Concerts, family events, and the weekend will have me busy.
I will be touching base with interested people this week hopefully. I have been working like mad. Please see the Diablo III site preview post as well!
