Anybody around here ever used both a Razer Naga and a Death Adder? I have a Death Adder and was wondering how it felt compared to the Naga. I like the Death Adder but I heard the Naga was small but no comparison as to what it's small compared to and the Death Adder is right on the edge of being too small for me.
Not sure what they meant by small, the Razer Naga has 12 thumb buttons? It's my understanding that they're both extremely ergonomic with high DPI and low response time. The Naga is more for MMOs though, with the 12 thumb buttons, whereas the Deathadder is clean cut for FPS shooters. Maybe your friend likes the mouse further up on the desk or by the desk edge, or needs it to fit the palm of his hand rather than resting it back so the distance between the contact points is minimized? IDK. Unless you have remarkably large hands the top of the line mice will still remain comfortable, and there's a lot of ways to use a mouse.
So nobody has any actual hands on with both? That Swifty guy on You Tube seems to have about the same size hands as me but then Razer is pretty much pimping his ass out so can't really take his word for it. Guess I'll just have to buy one and find out.

My last mouse was a Razer Black Mamba: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826153048 It's now collecting dust. I have very big hands and the Cyborg allows me to customize the mouse fit.
I just got the naga and i LOVE it ... now that i know how to use it after a few weeks of owning it ... PvP in an MMO just got easier
only time I used the naga was playing swtor at pax. From that I can say, it would take some time to adapt of all the buttons on the side. I personally think its over kill but i expect once you get used to it, it would save you a lot of time.
I know the question wasn't about this mouse but I also have the RAT7 and love it. It lets you customize it enough that the worry about the mouse being uncomfortable and not fitting your hand is a non issue.
HAHAHA not sayin'! No kidding? I heard a myth about stuff like that when I was still in grade school, but then again Richard Gere's been acting for a long time. If he shows up with Cindy Crawford though it's pretty much shot down to begin with..
What I'm trying to say is that the top of the line mouse designs aren't inherently flawed in ergonomics. You'd need to be far from average in hand size (from a hardcore male gamer) to actually suffer in any way from using either mouse. All mouse design is relatively similar. The contact points are set up vertically from the inside of the mouse toward the top area of the left and right mouseclick areas. If you rest your hand back away from the mouse, you have an increased ms response time pressing down straight onto the contact points. If you choke up on the grip, with the mouse completely under your palm, you'll have slightly better gyro action moving side to side. If the mouse is further down the desk, then your spatial awareness will recognize less about the mouse area specifically, but you'll be more spatially aware of more things happening at once instead. With the mouse closer to the edge of the desk, you'd be less spaced out and potentially more frenetic. If you play all of these ways all the time then you might want to actually sculpt out a piece of styrofoam and have it sponsored.. and uh.. cut me in on the profits brah, would ya?
I am and always have been naturally a "claw grip" player. It just felt normal to me when playing CS. I always move the mouse with my pinky finger and thumb
I typically use my wrist to move the mouse with my wrist on my desk and my fingers about an inch away from the tip of the R/L buttons on the mouse. I find I have more control over the mouse when I have a control point like my wrist on the desk to anchor the mouse and my hand down a bit.
I use the same method about an inch or so away from the edge of the desk. My reaction speed and accuracy are good enough to flick headshots pretty easily (which is what I practice for warmups) BUT I have to recommend trying the same with the mousepad way forward on the desk if you haven't yet, Kyoji. It's like 'zooming out' some. Also, I noticed a lot of the RTS SC2 gurus, who sport 300 actions per minute (APM), play that way because it lines up their sequential actions more fluidly (you can move your arm to pan the view but flick anywhere quickly with your wrist at anytime).
I would get a Logitech G700 instead of a Razer mouse if I were you, I own a Razer Mamba and heres what happened to it after not even 2 years of owning it: My Amazon.com Review: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2RXKAL6U9TXBE/ref=cm_cr_pr_cmt
well i read like 5 post then came down here i had a friend with the death adder and i myself have the naga. as far as the naga being smaller it is length wise. the adder seems like a traditional mouse thats been squashed down just a little while the naga seems to have been shortened to make it taller so all the buttons can fit on there. it being shorter doesnt make it less comfortable and now i prefer it cause i can rest that part of my hand on my desk then control the mouse with just my fingers as for my friend with the death adder, after buying it and then playing with mine he sent his back and bought a naga =) its by far the best mouse i have ever played with and i cant see how you can make one better
Thanks Roch I'll probably get a naga going to see if they go on sale over the next few months. Guess I could always go with the fatty fatty fat fat of gaming mice. ::x: http://steelseries.com/products/gam.../world-of-warcraft-cataclysm-mmo-gaming-mouse
Well just got the Naga this morning god damn this thing is small feels like I'm going to break it But seems to work ok can't really run any games to test it out until I get my new comp though.
I have both the Death Adder and Naga. (Or rather I had the Death Adder, sold it to Orome when I got my Naga) The Death Adder is absolutely a great mouse, I could not fault it in any way. However I do find the Naga to be far superior once you get used to it. It took me about a week to get accustomed to the shape and vast amount of buttons, however now I don't think I could ever go back to anything less than Naga, it proves incredible once you get used to it due to utility. My opinion. Death Adder = Awesome in every way. Naga = Godlike. Just choose the Naga if you really want the extra utility.
