Quite a bit of great information. Here is the link and I'll post some snippets below http://forums.elitistjerks.com/inde...-zenimax-studios-pvp-developer-brian-wheeler/ - Cyrodiil is very very large! On foot it would take you roughly 20-30 minutes to cross it from north to south. - Guild stores in Keeps (and resources) are available when a guild claims a keep or resource (farm, lumbermill, mine). The Quartermaster will then show the Guild Store to anyone that interacts with him/her and players can purchase whatever the guild that owns the claim has posted in their Guild Store. If you read through the thread there are other questions not linked to on the first page.
Stop getting me hyped about this game, damnit. I'm so tired of being let down by promises by MMO developers. :<
Just keep your expectations low like almost everyone else. That way you can't be disappointed! I don't think I've ever seen so much reverse hype and naysay.
It's just hard for me, because I like the Elder Scrolls games, I liked Skyrim, I love just about everything Bethesda has ever made, and with it being pretty much Bethesda developed (yeah yeah, Zenimax Online Studios blah blah, Zenimax owns Bethesda!), I can't help but get a little excited. And on top of that, I know they've got at least a few people from the DAoC team working on the PvP part, which has been my all-time favourite type of MMO PvP, and Cyrodiil sounds fucking amazing. But I don't want to be disappointed, like I was with Warhammer Online. (FUCK YOU EA)
Yeah the fact that they have some ex DAoC devs on the pvp team is fairly reassuring. I personally am tired of all the BS games that have been coming out and am very skeptical of all games, but I am still rooting for someone to pull off a great game eventually.
Im still stoked about the game..even if you can cross the mad n to s in 20-30 mins. That is small..unless the character is moving really really fast.
To put this into perspective, the following video is a SE to NW run of skyrim. The writer of the Kotaku article says that without the editing, the run took 30 minutes. For ESO's Cyrodiil, we are talking about a huge map. The devs weren't just crossing terrain, but they were doing a non-stop skyrun over terrain. Dev hax to avoid things that would slow you down otherwise. Fights, water, cliffs/walls, etc. It is gonna feel pretty big trying to run if you want to make it to some objective, even if you can mount (I know nothing of mounts so far, their ease of access or speed). If it takes them only 30 minutes going North to South Cyrodiil and skipping over all terrain, it will take a lot longer to cross the map for us.... especially if we want to run from SE to NW. SE to NW would take even longer if this unrelated map is any indication:
