In starry blue tensions, Forgot how to breathe, My life is off black. "Where are we driving?" Ask the kid in the back. He's taking his first. "Where were we goin'?" I can't say I know. Out the window slows down, My belief is cut short. "Where we all goin' to?" Why's that man not answerin' Riding in a limousine? Are you, Building a robot too? Almost finished mine today, I got rushed and underpaid. Must've thought it was a joke, More to share if you're there, Thanks for letting you know. Would've loved to be there, though.
Explaining poetry will kill the possible multiple interpretations of the poem. Dissecting a poem, like a joke, is like dissecting a frog. They both die in the process.
just because he tells you what his inspiration was doesn't mean that you can't interpret it differently.
Poetic but true, everyone interprets a poem differently. Its nice to compare what you came up with though
Its true that I can't really dissect it without an injustice toward what I had intended, but as a brief synopsis... My own interpretation would be: We are essentially two people moving through life in unique vehicles, who we are born as and who we have determined to build ourselves up to be. It has some word twists and an overall sardonic touch, as it is somewhat ironic that we can't move through life leaving our inner child vulnerable. Yet it is implied that those who have found the most success are also often unwilling to share.
