cant believe people are dieing in their 50's so often these days in careers that are as stress free as "acting" for millions

Well, Swayze has been incredibly sick for a long time, and I believe he was expected to die years ago because of it. RIP.

Well he had pancreatic cancer... and well you can't survive it no matter how hard you try. Kinda surprised he went in his first year of finding out about it since some have lived up to 5 yrs with it..

Red Dawn has always been one of my favorite movies and he was strongest character in the movie. If you haven't seen it, its not a bad movie. It might seem far fetched, but in the 80's, war with Russia was a fear, and invasion of New Mex. from Mexico was one of the foreseen ways the Fed. Gov. had envisioned/built strategies for. Otherwise, this movie might just seem cheesy. Also starred Jennifer Grey (girl that stared with him in Dirty Dancing), Charlie Shean, and Leah Thompson (shwing).

It is sad to see him go, 50's are not as old as some peeps think! God bless you Patrick and may your family grow strong from what you did while you were hear, and not wither because you no longer are.

*berates*. Nah, its all about perspective. I don't really care about people who I've never met dying. call me heartless. If a movie he has done has touched someone, they'll feel sentimental about it, and I understand how they feel.

In all honesty, the only movie I've seen of Swayze was Donnie Darko, and his character ended up being a pedophile... he acted well though. I have respect for the man, and hope he rests in peace.

I think it is very sad when the famous people you grow up watching (all their movies) die. I mean, they are all apart of us (our childhood). :(

But with Patrick Swayze what's eerie is that he passed at the age of 57 and so did his father!

not to mention the body changes to fit a role that actors do. losing or gaining weight, physical training etc. there's some very harsh things they do to make the part
