My buddy had a computer crash and an external drive backup fail at the same time. Needless to say, he lost all of his data and was looking for a economical online storage solution. Tried Mozy and they were ok but he's looking for other suggestions. Rapidshare and Megaupload seem more geared for file hosting purposes. No need to share the data, this is simply for backup protection. If anyone has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated!
wow that is some bad luck I havn't tried any of the online stuff really, but he might want to put his most important stuff onto DVD (stuff like photos) cause even those online places could go out of biz or something
I would hope they would notify people to move their data before the servers turn off but I totally understand where you are coming from. I will definitely mention that as well.
Norton offers 25GB of online backup for $50/year. http://shop.symantecstore.com/DRHM/...=hqr2EQoHAigAADuBeSIAAAAN&rests=1254261558476 http://online-data-backup-review.toptenreviews.com/norton-online-backup-review.html I'd say Norton is a pretty secure company to go with. They probably have several servers throughout the globe with your data secured in there.
