Well its time for me to leave in (7 hours) to florida for hockey nationals ...

My team won the north east division so we have to travel to Florida for a mini tournament to take on teams that each won their own divisions...

I cam in 6th in the entire league in pts with 63 pts in 37 games so hopefully I can keep dominating and bring home the hardware ...

If my team does make it into the championship game we will be showed live on ESPN ... I will keep ya guys up to date and let ya know if you can see me on ESPN or not

Cool! Congrats and I hope everything goes well! + If Cox is there to cheer you on you should win. Nothing like a Cox screaming at you.

well my team came in 2nd ... we lost the national championship in OT

I played insaine this weekend... 16 pts in 5 games and lead the division in pts and assists with 0 penalty minutes

I also scored in OT to win the eastern conference for my team and had such an amazing time

the final was broadcast on espn 3 and had about 50k viewers (wow)

Call me ignorant, but this is the first time I'm hearing of an organized league centered around hockey on rollerblades, heh.

So how is it compared to ice hockey?

Roller hockey is fun...I play during the summer in a pickup league. I played ice hockey for quite a while and there are for sure some differences, but the general skill sets remain the same.

I played a lot of travel ice when i was younger and moved over to roller

Roller is a little less hitting and more about speed skill and puck control

Roller is 4 v 4 with no offsides or icing so it is a much faster paced game

i enjoy both but knowing I wasnt making the NHL ill take the free equipment and trips with roller while I am still youngish :)

It looks like ice, but it's played on a synthetic surface... much like something you'd find in a cutting board.
