cyber walk> omni but the cyber walk would be a lot more expensive.

One is far more practical than the other though Ryld. Look at the Cyber and tell me it is anywhere near completion to a household product

Of course the omni is more practical, it wouldn't take up a whole room. I don't foresee it becoming a household product for quite a while. The military would love something like that for the sims the soldiers already go through. IMO it would still be a better experience than the omni.

    ETA*

Best pitch ever for the omni in the video is "going for a run in Skyrim".

there is a better cheaper system that attaches a camera to your chest and it reads markers on the floor and walls. you actually walk around the space..walk out the room..down halls...look out windows...out your front door even.
This is if you have the space to move around in.
it take s a little setting up but is a very cool solution.

have not found the link yet..you will hear of it soon Im sure.

I know it doesn't exactly relate to the Omni, but if you hadn't yet heard John Carmack joined up with Oculus Rift so we should probably start expecting even greater advancements in VR gaming soon. The guy is a technical genius and literally a rocket scientist.

I know, great news. I figure I'm going to end up having to get my hands on an oculus at some point to use with my omni when the time comes. till then, strafing and other movement will work just fine for me :)
