Nothing to discuss. Landslide ftw, even with majority of popular vote(51%)...(hasn't happened since carter). Its about time someone was elected that over 50% of the country can agree on.

I'm wondering what the final numbers will be. 60-40?

    Congratulations President!

because we don't allow political or religious discussion on the boards due to the problems that we run into with those topics...Mercsan won't accept that and keeps posting those type topics and getting mad when he gets modereated ;)

I don't know about you guys from other non-american countries, but in Canada, there were parties everywhere. There were definitely election parties on campus, and all my roomies were crying happily :p

    I'm excited, mostly bcause it's a milestone.

From BBC news in the UK -
    The main developments include:

    * Mr Obama is projected to have seized Ohio, New Mexico, Iowa, Virginia, Florida, Colorado, Indiana and Nevada - all Republican wins in 2004.
    * He is also projected to have won: Vermont, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Delaware, Massachusetts, District of Columbia, Maryland, Connecticut, Maine, New Jersey, Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, New York, Rhode Island, California, Hawaii, Washington, Oregon.
    * Mr McCain is projected to have won: Montana, Alaska, Kentucky, South Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Arkansas, Alabama, Kansas, North Dakota, Wyoming, Georgia, Louisiana, West Virginia, Texas, Mississippi, Utah, Arizona, Idaho, South Dakota.
    * Turnout was reported to be extremely high - in some places "unprecedented".
    * The Democrats made gains in the Senate race, seizing seats from the Republicans in Virginia, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Mexico and Colorado. They also increased their majority of the House of Representatives.
    * Exit polls suggest the economy was the major deciding factor for six out of 10 voters.
    * Nine out of 10 said the candidates' race was not important to their vote, the Associated Press reported. Almost as many said age did not matter.

The swing states (Ohio) are the ones that fucked us over last time, and they did it again. Always reliable. Fuck Ohio.

Oh man, it was fucking CHAOS in Hollywood.

Someone came into my bands rehearsal room at school and was like, "GUISE, GET DOWN STAIRS RIGHT NOW!!! OBAMA IS GONNA WIN!!!"

So we all ran down into the library, and there were like 50 people huddled around one computer screen. When it was announced, everyone started fucking jumping for joy. We ran downstairs out into the streets of Hollywood and people were going fucking insane. Cars were honking and people were hanging out the windows shouting. People running down the street dancing, throwing empty bottles of beer on the ground, it was pretty intense last night.

Now not only do we FINALLY have a Dem. in the presidents seat, we now also have a mostly Dem. Congress. :D I think a calm is heading our way.

What's the story on prop 8 btw? Does anyone know if that got dropped finally? :( I hope it doesn't get passed.

its good for having things done, it may be good or bad! but at lest there is a good chance the agenda of the president will be done for better or not.
