Yeah it is rather nuts. How can you honestly tell what type of person someone is through a game of basket ball. That is like thinking you can tell how someone is by their handshake.

 

It doesn't have to make sense, it just has to sound good. That's politics.

 

as a coach and player, I can assure you that basketball is a contact sport.

And basketball is a contact sport to an extent, I used to have season tickets to the sacramento KINGS and people got hit with elbows all the time. There is a lot of bumping in basketball but by no means is it a contact sport like rugby, football, wrestling, judo - ect.

I would put it along the lines of soccer.
