    watering hole attack means what exactly? Im unfamiliar with this type.

    They just mean a website hosting the exploit designed to target a specific group of people. I don't know who makes up these retarded jargon phrases :p

    The problem is that now as web browsers are getting more complex and powerful, they are getting tied in more closely with hardware. Things that used to be done in Flash or Java as web applets (Flash and Java were frequent attack vectors in the past) are now features of a browser, especially as HTML5 features are implemented and adopted. Some features of web browsers are becoming hardware accelerated like canvas and video playback, which means now a new attack vector is your hardware drivers.

    nvidia released a driver update today which patches this exploit.
