Xen of Onslaught's new website was launched on March 30th and is full of new features, different ways to do things and some small fixes for the backend. Another huge bonus to switching is that the base we use is a lot faster and uses newer and more effective technology than our old website (HTML5 and Ajax). We will be including a guide on how to use the features along with useful "how-to" guides for things like streaming on the FAQ page.
If you do happen to run across any problems, create a thread here, please include as much information as you can such as how we can recreate the problem, any error text or prompts.

    Currently implemented new features:

    PMs are now "conversations"
-You can now reply all!!! (more on this later)

-Conversations differ from PMs in a bunch of ways.
-They allow for a chain of PMs to be viewed all at once, in a thread format.
-Users can be invited into a conversation after it has already been started and they will be able to view all messages in that conversation, even if they were sent before the user was invited
-Invited users can invite more users, or can be set to not invite more users
-Conversations can be locked to act as a 1 way PM, simply get the message out and not accept any feedback
-All messages posted in a conversation will be displayed to all conversation members (reply all)
-You can hover your mouse over the "Inbox" button on the navigation bar and see some recent Conversations and select one to go straight into it

    Teamspeak Integration
The Teamspeak integration comes with a lot of features to make life easier for both the members and the admins
-Allows for users to keep their permissions on up to 4 identities (this allows for desktop, laptop, phone and work computer.... we know your playing games at work)
-Stops any permission errors from occurring (someone getting promoted on the website but not in teamspeak and vice versa)
-Automated promotion from xoobie to member and to veteran because of the automation on the website
-Stops inactive members from still having teamspeak permissions (you'll see more about this in backend features)

    Steam Integration
A lot of people use steam, this should help us find friends playing the same game and form groups
-Steam integration allows you to register a forum account using the information you've provided to steam or simply identify your current website account with your steam account
-Adds a banner on your profile page with your steam name and a small expandable menu with buttons that allow members to view your profile page, add you as a friend, view your inventory, etc.
-Keeps statistics of hours played on games for all users and total playtimes for individual users
-Will help people find members playing similar games and form groups and help XoO see what the members like and adapt accordingly

    Mass Conversation
This allows users to start conversations with large groups of members and allows them to bypass their regular conversation member limit in a mass conversation scenario
-All users can PM the admin usergroup to allow for easy error handling and continuity in the event of an admin joining or leaving
-Allows for higher ranking members to start conversations with different groups (e.g. CO can send a conversation to their entire division to get the word out)

    Back-end Features

    Inactivity Handler
The new inactivity handler will email users when they go inactive and remove their usergroups after a specific amount of time.
-After 30 days, an email is sent informing the users that they've been gone for 30 days and to come back
-After 60 days, Another email is sent to inform the user that they've been inactive for 60 days and we have removed their usergroups. This will bump the user back down to being a guest (registered on the forums but not xoobie, member or veteran and not in any divisional usergroups)

    New Xoobie->Member->Veteran System
    Old System:
becoming a member required that your a xoobie and have been registered for 30 days, to become a veteran you had to be a member and registered for 3 years.
The error in the above system is that it only checks based on your registered day and not on the day that you were promoted or joined.
So, I could register an account, go inactive for 3 years, then join a division and instantly become a veteran

    New System:
The new system checks the day you received your previous promotion and promotes you based on how long ago that was.
So to become a member you have to be a xoobie for 30 days and to become a veteran you have to be a member for 3 years.
The inactivity plugin will remove these promotions from you and cause you to have to work your way back up if you go inactive for more than 60 days

New Features on the Road Map

    Server Integration
-Allow for the website to interface with XoO's servers (to handle promotions/demotions/donations/bans/etc)

    Twitch Integration
-Page with twitch streams of XoO members (approved by the community director)
-Online streams will go at the top, offline will get pushed to the bottom
    -Popular recordings
    -Twitch info on user profile

As more features hit the road map, we'll inform you guys

That's not from the inactivity plugin
Those were just carried over from the old site, the old system left things like that
I fixed that error last night so it should all be working fine now
Please follow the thread and report bugs in the suggested forum and not in the front page

I also wanted to let people know that you can tag people with @username and it will alert them that they've been tagged in a thread. It's good for keeping up conversations with multiple people in a thread
(there is auto-complete once you type in the first few letters)

I know a lot of you, like Bishop, wanted more gradients so we added some CSS gradients to the user banners.

Also we added a nice background to the events tab for events slotted for that day.
