Based on Fawler's request, I went out searching for some tools to make things a bit easier on the pocketbooks and load times for mobile browsers.

I found a mobile style that really strips things down... it might be too much even, but as I don't use mobile devices for web browsing often, let me know what you think...
It's forums only and can be found at http://www2.xoohq.com Again, that is just the forums, not the front page.

Test it out and let us know what you think in the Suggestions and Feedback forum here:

    or if mobile http://www2.xoohq.com/showthread.php?t=9889

I think it's brilliant! I tested it on my phone (which is a standard samsung flip phone, nothing special) and it works great.

I use an iPhone so it doesn't make a huge difference, but it is quicker. The colors make it harder to navigate a little bit, but probably just takes getting used to.

Nice! I'll be taking advantage of this once I get a decent phone, instead of this ghetto POS I have...

I have the IPhone 3G, and while this is a great idea I find the site to be a little crunched up and makes things hard to read a bit, it's great so far! I myself took 6th place in nationals in my last year of high school for web design, so it just may be the designer in me when i say it't a bit crunched up, but like i said i work a lot with HTML, and seeing as I have an Iphone I'll see if I cant compile something to help out the guild with our mobile problems.

cool, I am thinking maybe keep this one as it's good for the non smart phones, or maybe we might be able to tweak it some more, and maybe another theme sorta in between that just strips out some of the images and such to lower bandwidth use. The smartphones I think can generally deal with the site fine, but it's a lot of bandwidth downloading everything. :)

It's great. It needs to have the CSS set to be auto-width to whatever size your browser is instead of a fixed width. Wow, I've been wanting a mobile version of xoohq for a while nice.

I love it, you don't have to take the extra time to load the signatures and avatars which really cuts down on the load time. Great job.
