Well, my mic on my headset has crapped out on me, so I'm in the market for a new on. Any suggestions on a new one are appreciated.

I am in the same boat here. Thinking of getting the white steelseries one.

I would also like to recommend plantronics. I am using one of theirs right now. But after a year and a half the mic quality has dropped and I am going to get another soon.

My old Labtech died and I got a cheap Plantronics from NewEgg and it seems to work okay.

The Creative Fatality headset I have is really nice. Just don't get a USB headset. Whatever you do, do not get a USB headset...

    What's wrong with usb headsets?

With mine, I can hear it if I scream into the mic, but then i switched to the front panel and that worked for a few days, then it did the same thing too.

So I have no idea if my plugs are shot or if it's the headset.

Well, I picked up a really cheap pair of micro innovation headset for $14.99 at the PX. Mic works, sound is good, and it is pretty comfortable. It is a wrap around set, pretty minimialist, which is good since I wear glasses.

I use a plantronics DSP 400. The updated model is the 470. It's a USB headset aswell and I love it.

I'm using that as well, though I'm not completely sure the money was well-spent. It's definitely good quality, but there's a good chance something much cheaper might be almost as good. :)

Anyway, the rest I only know off hearsay; Logitech stuff is OK for the low-end, haven't heard of as many people using their hardware if they want something good though. Plantronics is fairly popular and seems to get consistently good reviews. Sennheiser likewise, and there are cheaper models than the PC350, although I'm not sure how good they are. I've also heard some good things about Beyerdynamic headsets at the high end, if you can find them.
