Well my motherboard crapped out on me (maybe my fault....), so i had to do an earlier than expected upgrade...heres the new build. Finishing it up tonight, will leave it for a while before OC'ing... hopefully i can get some good #'s out of it

Great mobo and processer ;) I have them aswell. Haven't gotten around to Ocing the processor yet but the software that comes with the mobo is nice. Great fan control.

I have my 2500k at 4.5 on air ... that one should get a bit higher if you really want too

I find anything after 4.5 I dont notice any improvements on any games so I stayed with it

Well all is up and running except the board doesnt seem to boot in dual channel.... so im only running 8GB in single right now....dont know what the hell... checked bios settings, nothing to change there, updated to newer bios which had more memory compatibilty....still wont work in dual channel... very weird... trying to get a hold of asus now. Ive tried 2 diff sets of dominator mem - 1600 and 1866 (neither of which are on QVL list.... but i dont see why they wouldnt work if the vengeance ver. works....)
EDIT: Just got off the phone with Asus, looks like ill be RMA'ing it.... im seriously not having good luck with components these days.....

bummer... wtf, man... You build these things in a saw mill? Or a power plant? Possibly underwater? :) Better luck next time. I remember this happened to me once. I went through 4 count 'em 1 2 3 4 builds with a different issue each time. All I wanted to do was play Tomb Raider... jesus- it wasnt even worth it.. Just bad luck. Happens to all of us.

I'll second that ;) I've had crazy good luck with corsair and mushkin lately. Solid Recommendation for all who are following along at home.

I actually just switched to a LianLi HTPC case(from my old alienware full tower) cause i dont have an office and i run my comp off my tv in the living room, so i didnt want a full tower sitting there, it didnt go with my decor, haha....yea i know.... but i live in a tiny 560sq/ft condo..... Im gonna upgrade to this beautiful case when i get a bigger place in the next year or 2

I just switched to a noctua NH-C12(cause of height restriction) from a corsair H40 since there isnt a spot for the radiator in this case....
So, 1 x 140 case, 1 x 140 cpu, 2 x 80 high perf case.... i know i wont have the best temps with this setup, but even if i can clock to around 4 with stable temps, im fine with that

For such a small case, that sure is a lot of high performance parts and nice cooling to squeeze in. Great job.

Love it. And enigma is right: way to pack in the power in such a small package. That's a helluva htpc! Might i another option to the cosmos? Fractal design's define XL. Its glorious. I recently built another computer and decided against the Mega spacious rackmounts i generally go with. The fractal was what i decided on. Solid recommend.
