So I am trying to connect to a Korean IP using softEther and the program shows its connecting but not masking my IP and still showing my location and normal IP when I look it up. I currently use AVG have a Linkesy wireless router that I connect wireless to and use a NetGear Modem oh and running Win10.

I googled everything possible and all the videos show them installing SoftEther... clicking a VPN server and bam all done.

Need some input or a possible free VPN service that has a list of VPN servers to choose from

Post a video you watch for how to get it installed. That way Ill know if the video missed something or only covers a certain portion of what you need to do. I have no idea where to even start with "it doesn't work".
And what is the VPN server you are trying to connect to?

This is basically all I was told to do. It's a video posted on Bless fansite but idk if there other steps or something that's blocking me. My roommate told me the wireless router is set to allow VPN and my avg firewall is also

Like I do not get any other popups once it connected like the your IP is now window

That should be all that you need to do right there. If you are not getting any popups about it saying your IP address is now "###.###.###.###" then it is not connecting to the server properly.
I would turn off the Windows Firewall and turn off all the antivirus and then try connecting. If it still doesnt work then the problem could be that the VPN driver is not installed correctly or your router is not allowing the type of traffic this is using through the routers firewall.

Where exactly does it seem to fail? I assume it gets to the "Connecting to VPN Server ......." popup. Does it get through verifying the server, authenticating user, and then say "VPN Session has been established"?
If all that happens, do you get another popup about requesting an ip address from the dhcp server?

Does VPNGate use a specific port for all VPN servers? If so, make sure that port is open on your router.
