Na’Vi crowned $1 million winner of Dota 2 International

The Gamescon tournament representing the largest prize pool ever for gamer’s is finally over. Na’Vi, hailing from Ukraine, pummeled the chinese team EHOME in the best of five finals round. Na’Vi was undefeated throughout the entire tournament up until they received their a loss in the first game of the finals (probably because they picked a controversially risky hero, Pudge), but finished off EHOME with wins in the next two games. They had an automatic win in the finals because they had won through the winner’s bracket while EHOME had been knocked down to the loser’s bracket. EHOME took home $250,000 as the runner up, and Scythe.SG from Singapore finished third and won $150,000.
The tournament unveiled the first peak at the gameplay of Dota 2, and the invitational beta kicks off soon after Gamescon ends (better start crossing your fingers).
Here’s a video of Valve CEO Gabe Newell congratulating and handing over a oversized check to Na’Vi. Enjoy

1 Million Dollars to play dota! :D who knew that the warcraft III custom game would grow to become so popular on its own apart from Warcraft III.

I'm glad Na'Vi picked Pudge for their first game, even though they lost. :p
