Mount&Blade Warband Homepage This is a single-purchase game. This game is set to release March 19, 2010. It is a multiplayer version of the Mount&Blade original. This is a medieval RPG game with elements such as mounted combat, active blocking/swinging, castle siege/defense, join a kingdom and fight for them or start your own kingdom and capture all of the castles/towns, recruit and train soldiers to fight along side you in battle, fight in arenas/tournaments, purchase/sell equipment to be the wealthiest on the land. If you have never tried this game, there is a free trial on their homepage for the original Mount&Blade. There are ways to attain a full version without purchasing, which I am not sure is alright to share on these forums, so I will stay silent for now. Anyone watching this game, or ever played the original, or even insterested in trying it, post here!
I still have mount and blade..great game. Loved the active blocking and swinging..having to actually aim blows..aim the arrows...aim your blocks. The mounted combat was alot of fun. ..and jousting was a blast. Now multiplayer?!!? oh hell yea...I need to reinstall and brush up on my skills. This aint no point and click..it takes skill. Im more excited about this than any shooter Ive seen yet...and 64 players..castle sieges...and no point and click.
you can get a taste of what its like to NOT play a point and click Sword and shield game... http://www.taleworlds.com/download.aspx
I loved Mount and Blade, hhmmmmm, perhaps a re-install is warranted......... The original M&B was an interesting story of game development and persistence. Multiplayer should be a blast.
I would just say that this is not the first game with such a playstyle. Savage and Savage 2 had timed melee/blocking, with another interesting aspect of a player playing as the commander building/giving orders. The only thing it didnt have was mounted combat which I suppose would make Mount&blade interesting even though it looks much worse than the older Savage/Savage2 for whatever reason...
