I'm in the process of purchasing parts for a new computer. I plan to get the following CPU

    Intel Core i7-3930K Sandy Bridge-E 3.2GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) LGA 2011 130W Six-Core Desktop Processor BX80619i73930K

More than likely I will be overclocking that processor and I need recommendations for a motherboard to go with the CPU. I was looking at the ASUS P9X79 PRO motherboard. I see several other motherboards for Asus that are slightly higher in price but I'm not too sure if those motherboards are good for overclocking. ASUS Rampage IV Extreme and ASUS P9X79 WS. I'm willing to venture outside of the Asus brand but I refuse to purchase ASRock motherboards. Any input is greatly appreciated!

ASUS has the best bios of any motherboard so you should stick with them. The Rampage is the best overclocking board as it is designed for that, gets the latest bios releases, has the most support, is the 2nd best built, and gives you the most options.
The best built board, with still a great number of options and very stable bios is the ASUS Sabertooth series.

The WS boards are for workstations and not designed for overclocking.

I can say my sabertooth board is by far the best board I have ever worked with (and its way too many)

it is also the LEAST returned at micro center at my job :)

Actually, Asus says even their WS is built for overclocking and quad SLI!

The Sabertooth is badass though, but I'd go with the Deluxe for the extra voltage control, WiFi, more USB, more PCI-E, more more etc etc etc...for an extra $27. I kind of think it's a no-brainer. The Sabertooth looks like it's covered in kevlar or something though, which is pretty cool. :)
