Merry Christmas.

Here is something that was posted to the stardestroyer.net forums. I forgot who posted it, and the thread has since been deleted.

The Pirate Before Christmas

T'was the night before Christmas, and the sea was at rest
On watch was the cabin boy, in the lonely crows nest
He'd been a good pirate, swabbed the decks with great care
In the hope that the captain would let him down from up there

The Captain was pacing, round the floor of his room,
Stroking his beard in the light of the moon.
Way down below decks, in the stench and the reek,
The pirates were merry, they'd been drunk for a week.

But up in the nest, away from the smells,
To the cabin boy's ear came a faint ring of bells.
Then through the air, with a jingling whistle,
Came a hot flaming pudding, a festive cruise missile.

It crashed through the mast, with splinter and flame,
The attacker was hidden, but they all knew his name
The ship came in sight, the cannons roared without pause,
It was demonically driven by reindeer with oars.

And there was the captain, respected and feared,
Holly and ivy in his blood spattered beard.
As he strode on the deck, he made a terrible sight,
He'd wrapped up his peg leg in tinsel and lights.

He threw back his head, chuckled and roared
"Come on shipmates, grab your pistols and swords!"
His reindeer assembled, with death in their eyes,
"Board them, me hearties, leave none alive!"

The ship came along side, the grapple hooks flew,
And in swung Saint Nic, and his dread reindeer crew.
First to fall was the captain's first mate,
Gored by Dasher and Prancer and the rest of the eight.

In waded Clause, and he reached for his sack,
Gripping it firmly, he took a mighty swing back.
Four pirates rushed forward, but he soon took his toll,
As he beat them to death with a bag full of coal.

The blade of a cutlass held in his teeth,
He slaughtered the boson with a well sharpened wreath.
He butchered the pirates with nicely wrapped toys,
And roared to his victims, "Yeh've bin naughty boys!"

He took out his list, to check it again,
When in strode the captain, roused from his den.
They locked swords and fought, the captain winning the scrap,
Till Blitzen behind him broke his neck with a snap.

Down in the hold, red nose touched powder,
Igniting the fuse as the battle raged louder,
As the burning white spark advanced past his feet,
Rudolph called to Saint Nic to beat a hasty retreat.

As the ship pulled away, the explosion proceeded,
And Santa Claus watched as the wreckage receeded,
And yelled to survivors in the shark ridden swell,
"Happy Christmas you bastards, and I'll see you in hell!"

Best Christmas Story EVER

'Twas the night before Keg End, and as the hour grew later
The devs all worked hard to make WAR even greater
The Ogres and Snotlings were spawned with great care,
In hopes that the players would find them all there
The artists were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of fireworks danced in their heads;
My Wife in her nighty was now fast asleep
While I read design docs and made not a peep.
When out on the lawn there arose such a noise,
I looked out and saw a big mob of "Da Boyz."
Away from the window I flew like a flash,
For my skull I would rather the Orcs did not smash
"Oi Boss!" said a Big 'Un, "We's ere for da brew!"
They'd heard about Keg End! Now what could I do?
And then, to my terrified brain did appear
An idea that might get those Orcs out of here
I would do what they wanted - I'd get them the brew!
But in order to do so, I'd need all my crew.
As quick as left click, I drove from my home
"Emergency meeting!" I cried down the phone
As I called all the devs, to the conference they came.
But when I told them my story, they called me insane
"It's true!" I exclaimed, "And I have a great plan!"
"We'll lure them back to the game world again!"
"Now go to your cubes and spawn barrels of brew!"
"Fill every zone, and the capitals, too!"
We waited and watched (and got some bug reports)
"Hey wait, look at that, it's that same gang of Orcs!"
The greenskins were roaming the dark streets of Praag
Guzzling the beer and calling out "Waaagh!"
They were back in the game, where they all should have stayed
"Now Orcs," I said, smiling, "you're about to get played."
"It's time to log in!" I called out with a thrill
"Order Mains please, and let's go for the kill!"
The fighting was fierce, but the Orcs we did smite
And many a dev gained renown ranks that night.
The Orcs were dismayed. "Why'd you do that?" they groaned
"War is everywhere!" I said, "and you've just been OWNED!"
Then I exclaimed as I tipped back a pint
"Happy Keg End to all, let's get sloshed tonight!"
