    How old are you?
    21
    In-Game Name?
    Mark
Do you have Teamspeak 3 and a mic?
    Yes
    What is your primary class?
    Priest
    Why did you choose XoO:
You guys are playing in KOBT, and so am I. Unfortunately I am not part of a guild, which means I am a nobody (according to Kyoji's sig on the official TERA forums). XoO looks like it has it's shit together, so I thought it wouldn't hurt to dip a toe in and test the waters.
    Previous Gaming Experience:
GuildWars, babby's first MMO. It released on April 28th, 2006 and that's the same day my main character was created: a W/Mo named Felicia Darkstalker. I still play her sporadically after having beat the Prophecies and GWEN campaigns (mainly to fill my HoM), but the game's pretty boring now.

Aion...do I really have to explain my association to this game? I founded AionSource.com back in 2006 and went on to build the biggest goddamn Aion fansite the world's ever seen. As for my success in-game, I ran with RageQuit for about three months before stopping at level 46. I was a priest, and a really good one at that, but I don't remember anything specific. Helped cap a lot of forts but never got much credit because of those goddamn sorcs. I basically wasted a ton of time rifting solo into Morheim. Mastered gliding so I could get down from the Asmo's high-level Mau area to the low-level shroom forest. I fucking loved setting off my DP AoE and watching ten people keel over at once. Tears of happiness were shed.
Why do you think you'll be a good fit?
You guys need priests, I need meatshields? Just kidding (kinda). Honestly I need bros to run with during KOBT and potentially afterward. I'm sure some of you will keep playing KRetail, right?

I met a few Xen guys at PAX2010 and they seemed like a pretty cool bunch of dudes, too, if that makes any difference. Unlike RageQuit. They were weird, to say the least. Good at killing, though, but so are you guys. I'd rather play with people who are a little bit more balanced. 35+ hours requirement isn't hard to meet except during college finals weeks.
What will you contribute to the guild?
This is my favorite question. I can contribute all kinds technical knowhow to XoO, mostly at a intermediate level. Audio/video recording and editing, forum software setup, troubleshooting, moderation, Linux server administration, etc.

I'm also pretty good at working with the media and writing stuff (press releases, editorials, other articles, etc.).
    Localization:
    NA
    Do you have a referral?
    Kyoji
    A little bit about yourself?
I'm an extrovert in-person. I've actually got a shirt designed, but not yet printed, that says "will talk to anyone, about anything, for free!*" (Spreadshirt rocks, this is not an ad.)

I'm going for a "Communications" Bachelor's degree with a focus on public relations, but my ultimate goal is to land a job as a "Community Manager" or something similar at a videogame publisher.

Online I probably sound a little egotistical and on Teamspeak I'll probably be more quiet than the rest of the guys for a good long time until I get to know everyone really well. I also live in a house with other people who go to sleep before I do, so I'm quiet late at night for other reasons.
    Activity level?
    35+
Do you have a high speed internet connection and a good computer?
    Yes
Have you applied to the TERA usergroup?
    Yes

Yup. I also made this video after PAX. Got some XoO people on camera but I might/might not have used them. Can't remember.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4AOWcaNV7Eg

Also made the hour long video from the party in the Alehouse.

I just dropped Communications lol... that class made me want to commit suicide. I don't need someone to tell me that if I talk to someone in English that speaks French they won't understand me. xD

What aspects did you most like about Aion and how do you think this will play into how much you may or may not like Tera?

What I liked about Aion in 2006 didn't exactly come to fruition in 2009. NCsoft promised flight, an amazing world, and war. What we got was something barely resembling the original design document, which I attribute to NCsoft firing half of Aion's original team during 2007. Thank god for ArcheAge.

EDIT: follow that link and scroll down until you see the Aion section. That's one of my favorite written articles. I don't know how I managed to write something that long, but I did, somehow. Words words words.

If you want me to be more specific: out of everything in Aion, I liked rifting the most. Camping out in Eltnen waiting for someone to ping coordinates of an Asmo and then hunting them down. Jumping through a rift and gliding onto mushroom trees where no Asmo could reach me but everyone could see my derogatory private store sign...it was poetic.

The Abyss was a good concept but not well executed. Not to mention the 32-bit client problems (instant crashing when the texture buffer exceeded the soft limit) that NCsoft refused to fix with a 64-bit client.

The newbie areas were also the best I've ever seen, except for pre-Searing Ascalon.

As for TERA: I already know I like it. The combat system is unique and keeps me from getting bored hitting hotkeys and spamming heals. Healing in TERA is an AoE affair, which means I've got to move around to match the rest of the party (unless they're crazy and stand in place or something).

The graphics make my eyes bleed, but my PC slaps everyone's shit (and renders videos rather fast). TERA's PvP and political system hasn't been well detailed yet, but hopefully it delivers on it's promise.

Basically Aion was young love for me; I was wild and believed the girl's splenda-sweet words that'd we'd be together forever. I guess that makes TERA a mid-life crisis where I buy a stupidly fast car and get a lot of tickets...

Now as for release just know we are going to be in NA and not going to really be playing korean release. The OBT is just for knowledge and to know what everyone is going to play at release.

Hey mark whats up, its the kid you discussed cameras with....still debating btw but um now are you looking for long term or short term here for XoO, we really want those who are going to stick with us from this game and even when you move onto another one.

Also if getting into KRetail won't be a pain to sub for then I most likely will do it.

NA release will probably be months after Korea's. If you guys want to keep your skills sharp, I'd stay subbed to Korea and just copy over the localization files from the FGTs or NA/EU betas.

I completely understand what you're saying, though, and I'd totally drop Korea in a heartbeat to play on NA servers. Ping is king.

Sup Vicious. What cameras are you looking at now? Good ones are even more affordable than ever. :)

I'd stick with you guys from beta into retail and then into ArcheAge if you guys are planning on playing that. Maybe Blade and Soul too, but I'm not too keen on NCsoft-made games any more (even though B&S's T&A makes mah balls hurt so much).

As for staying subbed to Korea, it's easy if you use the right reseller. I've had good experiences in the past with one particular reseller for Aion and they've got TERA squared away so I figured that would be safe too.

I've seen archemage unless they fix a lot of combat issues its not going to be very good and will flop with a lot of promises just like past mmo's.

Plus the company hasn't released a single project they were working on something and then just completely dropped it.....somehow this game to me won't have enough backing behind it. Sure its the guy who made lineage but I don't see it being as big as other triple A titles being released next year.

    What's Archemage?

XLGames worked on Project X2, but that was when their studio consisted of basically a skeleton crew. It was more of a tech demo tbh. With ArcheAge they've gone all-in.

But you're right to be wary. Every game deserves skepticism.
