A 59-year-old man has been jailed in Gastonia, N.C., on charges of larceny after allegedly robbing an RBC Bank for $1 so he could get health care in prison. Richard James Verone handed a female teller a note demanding the money and claiming that he had a gun, according to the police report."

Pretty sad when a man needs to rob a bank to get his health cared for

Pretty sure the guy qualifies for disability benefits and is only a few years from being eligible for his social security and retirement funds. 12 months in jail for some junk scrawled on a piece of paper demanding one dollar seems a bit harsh, I bet he gets a slap on the wrist and a psychiatrist.
