Stumbled upon this cool area of second life and met this Japanese girl. Turns out she created this area (sim). She gave me the link to a machinima she made here.
tons of machinima is made in SL. Bryn Oh is one of my fav graphic artists. Bryn Oh built this in one of IBM's sims. its beautiful.
This really isnt my thing, but I certainly see the poetry in this. These are very interesting developments in high art.
yes there are plenty of them. And any other sexual orientation you can think of..and few you never imagined. So if you get in game I can show you right where you want to go...depends on you which one your looking for..femdom? maledom? gorean? gay? lesbian? furry? cannibal? cybersex...or maybe bondage tentacle sex is you thing.
im more into other realms of Second life. I got tired of being a master and keeping slaves after a few years of it. The ex-slaves still stop by home to chat now and then. Im into Cyberpunk roleplay sims...Im thinking of getting an apartment in this Roleplay Sim.. I also like to roleplay the dark urban sims..crims vs crims vs crims vs cops.vs crooked cops vs reporters vs emergency medical vs orphan kids vs vampires vs werewolves vs cyborgs vs world of warcraft vs aion vs naruto vs mario vs japanese milkmaids....rape..murder..kidnapping..drugs...prostitution..thrill kills..vehicles...or just a stroll down main street.
atm I am building my own sim. A music club resort for DJ's to gather. Each will stream 3 songs into SL and then the next DJ and the next..etc. Play any song any genre. DJ from around the world. We listen to tunes and bullshit and crack jokes. just a hangout for DJ
if you want some laughs.. there are some very very good griefers in SL...search youtube for second life grief(ers)(ing) you can troll some people hard..
yea..I really did not think so. Was just playing along with your BDSM joke. To let anyone else know that what you heard is incorrect. Here are a few places you can go that do not involve bdsm or furry butt sex. Harvard Law School's Austin Hall Hong Kong Polytechnic University, School of Hotel & Tourism Management - Ohio University Second Life Campus - Bowling Green State University Virtual Campus Northern Illinois University, Glidden Campus The Sistine Chapel (Vassar Island) Virtual University of Edinburgh Second life Health education (pbwiki) (Navid Tomlinson) UC Davis' Virtual Hallucinations (James Linden) Heart Murmur Sim (medical assessment experiment, The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Second Life Second Health - Imperial College, London NOAA's Virtual Island Genome (Biology, Genetics) Pontifical University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio) The Australian Film TV and Radio School Digital Worlds Institute (University of Florida) Drexel University Edinburgh University (aka The University of Edinburgh) Elon University Emory University Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture, University of Houston Great Northern Way Campus - Centre for Digital Media Hong Kong Polytechnic University Huddersfield University Idaho State University International Business (IB) Ithaca College, Roy H. I also had a xen of onslaught club house with Xen of Onslaught t-shirts. Thought it would be more fun to have meetings in voice there than in teamspeak. A gathering of avatars instead of disembodied voices. these were built by a xen member and I still appreciate his effort very much. Thanks Chase!!!! the shirts on a couple of xen that came in game to see the xen area being built a few xen sitting around watching Chase work..note the xoo emblem in background. The inside ring and the X revolved. We had smaller versions you could wear. this is me..so yea..there is bdsm. Old pic..game looks much better now with my better pc. here is my fiance on the land I am creating now
So how does that work? You buy land from the developers? Do you get to create the land itself or do you get just a small island to play with? When you build structures does that cost extra money or is basically like minecraft in the sense you stick objects down as much as you want? Do you build everything "wall by wall" or are there like a list of objects? I'm kinda interested because I would like to make an entire town myself. Not worried that it could take years, but I don't want to have to spend 10 grand doing it
you really asking a mouthful..there is a lot to building and creating. There are free open sims i have listed below. to create in the second life you can use the in game tools and also use most all 3D programs and upload the models to second life..Maya,blender..etc. SL uses Mesh and sculpty. http://secondlife.com/whatis/create/builders/ The second life viewer/browser contains a set of tools for creation in game using the starting point of a basic building block called a "prim". a small square that you manipulate. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Building_Tools here is a time lapse of someone building using the ingame tools and using the "prim" {primitive object} here is a fine example of what it is possible to build in SL here is some quality creation in second life after you create it..you can animate it..script it for many functions. http://secondlife.com/whatis/create/coders/ Animate Anything Program any object in Second Life and watch it come to life- from splashing water to kissing avatars to complex machines. Code Together Collaborate with friends to create commercial ventures or just have fun bringing things to life. Get Help Free help is offered by veteran Residents and the Linden Lab staff, and 3D step-by-step tutorials are always available throughout the world. Make Games Create games inside Second Life- from action games, to roleplaying games to board games. They can get as simple or as complex as you'd like. Reach Out Enable gadgets in Second Life to interact with websites and reach into the real world using XML. Realistic Vehicles Take advantage of the Second Life physics engine to create vehicles with realistic functionality. http://secondlife.com/whatis/create/designers/ Use our free templates to start creating avatar clothes, skins or even eyes immediately. Import Graphics Import your graphics files from Photoshop® or Painter™ and create realistic textures. Get Fashion Learn to design shoes, clothes, hair styles or accessories like belts and glasses. Design fashions for human-shaped avatars or any other creature you can imagine. Create Avatars Design an entire avatar and watch it come to life. Design Anything Second Life doesn't limit you to fashion- design cars, houses, plants, jewelry- the list is endless. you can buy land from the second life devs..you then pay a monthly server use fee. ((There are free options ill list below)). One server holds one "sim"/ island. http://secondlife.com/land/ by buying land and renting a server from Lindens..you are connected to the second life "world/grid"..and the people who play in SL. connecting to the Second Life "Grid" by using linden servers people can play in and/or explore the city you create. OR if all you want to do is build, you can host your own server on your PC. Free. and use the second life viewer to "enter" your "sim" The program is called "Open Sim" http://opensimulator.org/wiki/Main_Page it does not a have all the options that SL has. but if you want to create a city it should be fine for your needs. It uses the same second life viewer/browser and building tools. You can have people come into your world by hosting your server online. these were made in an open sim for more examples of open sim builds http://www.koinup.com/works/in-opensim/ the "ingame" building tools that are in the viewer/browser. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Building_Tools you are not limited to these tools
Seems like it would be fun, but I don't think I'd want to pay a monthly fee after paying for the spot, I dont have much time to commit and that 4 day project would have easily taken me half a year heh
you can host your own sim on your own pc..free..it uses the same program that second life uses and it sues the same viewer..you just log in to your own grid. the bottom two images on my last post are opensim http://opensimulator.org/wiki/Main_Page
