So I just found out that a certain store down the street from me (Fry's) has had these in stock for almost 3 weeks! The last pic is of the board on my computer desk EDIT: Here are reviews of the new Sandy Bridge processors: http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=664&Itemid=63 http://www.anandtech.com/show/4083/...ore-i5-2600k-i5-2500k-and-core-i3-2100-tested
I wish I had another graphics card around right now so I could hook it up to a monitor and give you some bios shots. I cant put it in my computer quite yet cause I haven't received the processor for it yet :/ Soon though...
Shoulda held off on my rebuilding my rig last spring (started it in Feb.). I don't necessarily regret it, but I'm getting the urge to build another box, esp. after reading all the articles on the new "K" series of this line.
we have plenty of those in stock at micro center ... we also had a laptop with a sandy bridge haha ... quickly went off sale status week ago
Good to know Microcenter has them in stock, or HAD them in stock. Got one "right down the street" I might have to go spend some Holiday money on.
Do you have Sandy Bridge CPUs in the back at MicroCenter? Not a laptop with one, but the actual CPUs? I was told by Fry's that they didnt receive a shipment yet because the CPU isnt released for a few more days. If you do have a shipment in stock, want to be a good member and sell me one a little bit early?

Sweet! I have an ASUS monitor and love it! Umm...bro..can u re-size those pics next time? Took my primitive CPU at work 5 mins to load...lol..
whats even worse about this sale is ... ill be in boston for hockey ... so i dont get to get any sales = no money for me and intel wont send me a new shirt
How can MicroCenter do that though? The 2500k processor is sold by Intel in 1000 unit trays for a cost of $216 each, so if MicroCenter purchases the processors at the normal cost Intel sells the CPUs at for bulk orders, how can MicroCenter sell the CPU for less than what they paid for it? Maybe MC is banking on the fact that you will also buy a new MB and possibly RAM, and maybe some other stuff for the new processor and thus make their money back that way?
that is exactly what they are banking on I worked in that department and they wanted us to get atleast 280$ in sales attatched to the CPU in order to make money for em ... what sucks is im in the PC sales department now for holiday which is more money and little less work and i might have to go back to the build your own department because people suck in that department at my store haha
I got the new CPU a couple days ago finally. The best processor batch so far for overclocking I have been waiting on my diamond TIM to put it all together and that finally came in from FedEx today (I hate fedex). So hopefully I will have some numbers for you tomorrow
First attempt at overclock once I figured out how to do it on this confusing POS motherboard was 4.3GHz. I was pretty pissed because I got a very specific i7 2600k, the batch that overclocks best. And yet I couldnt even get the minimum ever reported for an overclock. I updated the bios to the latest stable version and it fixed a ton of problems I was having. My first attempt with the newer bios here:
