So it's a 3rd person Blacklight: Retrubution, with less weapon customization, less competitiveness and grotesque characters? The best part of the entire video was the commentary. I looked at some other sources of information, which make a big deal out of the weapon customization. While there's an amazing amount of options an variety in how weapons behave, some of them seem ridiculously OP. Like a rocket launcher that shoots a rocket that splits into 5 rockets and then the 5 rockets split into 5 each, pelting a massive area.
Rocket launchers aren't as OP as they sound. In fact if someone has a rocket launcher I just laugh at them while I pulse them to death. They do a good job of balancing the damage on stuff that doesn't require any aiming. On top of that anything that can bounce back can also hit you. You will end up killing yourself just as much as the enemy with some guns. Blacklight Ret was an amazing game but had WAY to much customization for a good competitive FPS. When you add that much random shit into an FPS skill factor drops and ends up being paper rock scissors or just finding that stupid OP smg with a sniper barrel and a scope "balance". Loadout does the same thing, as stated above, but its a lot more balanced. On top of that their "wallhack" scope isn't as stupid OP and no one really uses it. Loadout is a very casual FPS only 4v4 for now. Blacklight has 8v8. Loadout is more unreal tourny and blacklight is more call of duty. Both fun games. Both are "host" games. So scratch off any hope of actual competition.
