Okay, I'm starting to see ads for it on TV, and I'm cringing every time I hear the forced lines from it. I don't think Hit Girl was the right cast for this.

The Swedish book and movie (Let the Right One In) are awesome. The revisions the American remake is making are interesting, but so far it doesn't look promising. It has the potential for fancier special effects and more gore, but from what I've seen so far, it's pretty meh.

I'm probably going to see it anyway. What will probably save it for me is if they put in/elaborate on certain scenes from the book that didn't make the cut in the original film (some of the funnier, cuter moments, and of course the badass ending which was done well in the original but could needed something more).

If you like vampires, go rent the original with English theatrical subs. Best vamp flick in a while.

  2. 1. My friend says he and I should see "Let Me In." I told him I have 0 interest in doing so.

    2. I loved the Swedish flick and am currently reading the book. Having seen the movie definitely ruins the narrative and surprises, but getting to know the characters better is a nice benefit.

All American remakes of any good film suck. Death at a Funeral was a prime example....

I actually thought it was pretty funny. Anything with Tracy Morgan usually is.

  5. Let the Right One In was so creepy. @_@

There's lots of cool things in the book that didn't make it into the movie. The movie includes lots of scenes that seemingly have no meaning, but are explained better in the book. So the book is a must read.
