For some reason I became interested in the idea of getting a touch monitor for my pc but when I realised that was not practical I was wondering about a kinect type solution that tracked hand movement to control my screen. Imagine something akin to minority report sans gloves, this is where Leapmotion comes in. The sensor appears to be quite unobtrusive and is extremely accurate. At $80 it is a lot less expensive than kinect is, sleeker, and more accurate from the looks of it. Even if the product doesn't pan out in the long run I would love to get a chance to try it and I sincerely hope it catches on. I preordered one and supposedly they will ship december/january this year. I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for release as developing new products can be hit and miss sometimes with things out of their control. But, I have my name down for one and when they are ready for release one will be headed my way.

When I saw the title, I thought it was the trampoline motion controller:

Those demos you linked look cool though, and for 70$.. quite affordable

Indeed, I was quite surprised with the price. Thinking back over the past 10 years of computer games I think that Black & White would have been spectacular if something like this existed at the time. I may just dust off my Black & discs if it is possible to use this in that fashion. It would making casting spells so much easier.

    Thats a really good point.
I instantly started thinking of the touchscreen monitor we have over the sink in the kitchen for xbmc/youtube/food network. Its great, except that you touch it.... not the easiest to keep clean. If this leap interface is reliable... what an elegant solution!
