1. Age (18+ Requirement): 22 2. In-Game Name: Kellexx 3. Do you have vent and a mic?: Yes and they work. I have a music bot too 4. Previous gaming experience: For MMORPGs I played WoW for about 4 years in a top-of-the-server guild (Heresiarch - Drenden-US). I stopped last summer, cuz I got bored. I've also tried the following, though not extensively: - Diablo 2 - Warhammer Online - Aion - FFXI - Wizard101 - Runescape Otherwise some random favourite games are: - Left 4 Dead 2 - Dragon Age: Origins - Fallout 3 - Oblivion - Battlefield 2 - Fable 1&2 - Starcraft - Silent Hill (whole series) 5. Why did you choose XoO?: Seems like a very good place to start off TERA with. Very organized, mature, and successful. 6. Why do you think you'll be a good fit?: I get along with anybody. I've looked at some of the threads on here and you guys have a similar sense of humour, which is awesome. 7. What will you contribute to the guild: I'll be a reliable member; someone to count on for performance. I don't raid dodge or stir up drama. Drama's for wankers. 8. How will you improve our guild and be a valued member?: I'm always trying to help guildies out however I can. Whether it's running instances, theorycrafting, or just general advice. In WoW, I did a lot of number-crunching to help advise other warriors in the guild. The report is likely outdated now, but you can see it at http://www.heresiarchguild.com/forums/topic/2671-crackin-skulls-the-way-its-done/ . Sort of unrelated, but I also wrote a walkthrough for Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, and have actively helped people with that game on forums or by email. You can see my walkthrough at http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/wii/game/959196.html as well as other sites. 9. Do you have a referral?: No. 10. A little bit about yourself: I'm a gamer/musician. I've written a total of 84 songs (partial or fully polished). If interested, you can listen to some of my latest at http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/300744 or http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/197362 . I work with support for www.microsoftstore.com and have a lot of free time at work to browse forums and shit. So I'll check here regularly. 11. Activity Level (hrs/week): I'll be around from 5pm to 11pm EST on my workdays and most of the day for my days off, so probably around 30+/week. I can adjust according to raid schedules or whatever. 12. Apply to usergroup: Applied to New XoO Member (probation)
thank you for your interest in XoO. To start off, a little quiz. Tell me a little bit about what you have learned while playing some of the games you have listed and tell me how that translates into being a successful player.
I've learned that patience, research, and being able to quickly adapt/react all play large roles in being a successful player. Patience is vital to progressing. Whether this is in solo development or helping others understand and improve their performance. Most things don't come quickly and require time and effort. Patience has certainly helped when wiping constantly while attempting new content. To exemplify my patience, I fished a lot in WoW, which is very monotonous and repetitive. I was even realm first to max out fishing in the WotLK expansion. You also need to do your own research on strategies. If you just jump in with the "sink or swim" mentality, you'll have to go through a lot of trial and error to get it right. That said, there's also the responsibility of the player to be attentive and able to react and adapt quickly. An example of when this helped me was in WoW (BC) for Magtheridon. I'm not sure if you're familiar with the fight yourself, but basically there were 5 objects around the room that people were designated to stand by and activate, all at the same time. Failure would wipe the raid in most cases. I was melee, so I wasn't ever responsible for activating them, but I still understood it and its importance. When someone hadn't done the research or wasn't familiar with what was going on, they couldn't be tasked to activate the objects, for they'd likely fail. Regardless, there was one time that the entire raid died except for the tank and melee. Without even communicating much, when it came time to activate the objects around the room, we all adapted and pulled it off successfully. So a person who was designated to just stand there and click once on something failed, but when panic mode ensued, the other melee and I coordinated ourselves perfectly. It's like the line from Collateral: "we gotta make the best of it; improvise; adapt to the environment; Darwin; shit happens; I Ching. Whatever man, we gotta roll with it." I always strive for better performance and to help others do the same so we can progress together as a group. After all.. why be average when you can be amazing?
excellent answer. ACCEPTED. Probation ends after 30 days. Post around and get to know everyone. Make sure you check out the New Recruits Guide for TERA and do what it says. The game will be a while till release so stay active on the forums. Whenever they release the next testing phase you are welcome to join us in vent and in game. Vent info is stickied in the Members Area.
Welcome, and sweet avatar btw. Glad to see another musician as well, will have to check out that link after work.
Thanks. I made it in Flash for a daily project of my own. If you've got some music of your own, send me some links or something. I love hearing other people's work.
Not the best recording, did it at a friend's studio. Did a small little EP. Its okay I guess, will talk to you laters.
I would do music stuff as well but um I suck with getting plugins such as EZ drummer to work and so on.
For drums, what I do is write them in midi (Guitar Pro) then convert to .wav. You can also import it to Reason or FL Studio and add some more depth to it if you want.
