Waiting on ESO.... no beta no release. Waiting on EQ Next...not sure if I'll even play but it looks interesting. No beta, no release. WURM and Minecraft both ate my soul for far too long. PS2 continues to amuse me but not nearly enough. EQ2 just makes me want to throw something heavy through my monitor. point click kill - repeat... Never got into GW...tried it, didn't like it. I'll never play WoW again, filthy commie bastards. So I'm reaching out to the Xen of Onslaught community to give me ideas of games I haven't yet tried and will be a decent distraction until something of some decent caliber is released. I like the crafting & teamwork aspect more than the PVP aspect of games, this is why ESO looks so appealing to me. I loved Wurm until we all kinda faded away but damn that game was expensive to keep playing. So where are we? What are we doing? Any ideas would be most appreciated or it's back to playing scorched earth and clones of pac-man while I wait for something with some staying power to start up.
You could check out Final Fantasy XIV: ARR XoO has a very strong presence in that game, and it's just around the corner. Unfortunately, you're just a few days too late to try the "open beta" (ie. demo), but head start begins on the 24th and release is the 27th. Other than that, there aren't that many games out currently that I believe are worth it. I waste my time in Skyrim and Dota 2 now and again, and have been considering hopping into DayZ and/or World of Tanks again, but it's kind of pointless with two days left before FFXIV.
We could bribe Q or Enigma into starting up another XoO Minecraft server. I wouldn't mind playing with some of the updates myself. Also ArcheAge needs to be on your list.
Do you enjoy a never ending battleground that reset after an hours? I suggest Dota 2 or League of Legends. Do you enjoy killing hundreds of monsters with your friends and phat loot? I suggest Path of Exile, Torchlight 2, or Diablo 3. Do you enjoy strategic thinking? I suggest Civ 5, Total War Series, Starcraft 2. Do you enjoy quirky games? There is so many indie games now that I can't even count them all. Are you a fan of retro games? Play one of the many rebooted games over kickstarter such as shadowrun returns, or download an emulator and try to power through one of other series (I am currently working on Final Fantasy during brown time at work). Do you enjoy open worlds RPGs and character progression? I suggest Tera (F2P), EvE Online, World of Warcraft, or a billion other games that also have private servers. You can go back and play WoW with 3k other people in Burning Crusade for example. Do you enjoy getting headshots? I suggest COD4 and CS:GO or 1.6. Do you enjoy 'realistic' war simulators? I suggest Mechwarrior Online, Hawken, World of Tanks, and whatever the airplane one is. --------------------------------- The games catalog at this point is so impossible large that I don't even have enough time to scratch the surface of everything I would like to play. I imagine you can find many to tide yourself over if you take the time to think about your likes/dislikes then apply a google search.
Just go for Rome Total War II, it's out in, like, 10 days and it'll eat your soul. Or you could try FFXIV till Wildstar / EQN are out (maybe ESO if it doesn't do another TOR). If u just want mindless killing Saints Row IV is out Saturday on PC i think. Riot u can't possibly suggest COD to anyone unless it's, like, MW1... There's Day Z too if u wanna get bored (or stressed !) trying to escape zombies
I only suggest MW1 which in my opinion is still miles about anything else in the series. Find a good dedicated server that plays hardcore search and destroy...the rest is history.
Lots of good ideas there!!! Thanks guys, I knew I could count on you all. I never played any of the FF games and I'm afraid I'd like it then gloss over ESO which I'm REALLY interested in. The wife is actually considering allowing me to build her a separate PC so she and I can play at the same time. If you knew my wife you'd know thats a HUGE step for her...she could pinch a penny until Lincoln squeals. Several of the titles that were mentioned look interesting to me. Going to get my damn mic working again and jump on TS to figure out what everyone is doing now. BTW, XoO does have a Minecraft server. The details are in the TS page for it. We are (as of last month) running it on a dedicated cloud server. Contact Zantas or Vankras for details. I'm a little behind so I don't know what version they currently have up.
game i'm currently into (besides ps2) League of Legends X-COM: Enemy Unknown Battlefield 3 SMITE Infinite Crisis
i cant belive you got Jen to agree to let you build her a computer. hope you join us in FF *feel the powaaah of the dark side*
She sends us Danish chocolate so my wife says I have to listen to every damn word she says. Seriously though I've been grinding away at Wurm the last few days. Very difficult to manage the XoO village (Green Dragon's Rest) when I don't have access to any of the abandon deeds. You guys either need to play or log in and give me the deeds to your old houses so I can re-home people as I find them. EQ-N and TESO are on my radar. I'll probably end up committing to which ever is released first (or accepts me into Beta) I doubt very seriously I'll play both. I'm rooting for TESO but at this point I'm so damn bored that I couldn't care less as long as something is released. A big part of my current frustration is my TS situation (tried 3 different mics, all wont work) and the fact that I probably need bifocals (it sucks getting old...who would have thought that 40 was "old") so even though I play on a 50" screen the little text boxes are getting increasingly hard for me to read. I have plans to move my system to a regular old monitor soon, that should solve the text issue and I have ordered a top of the line bluetooth adapter to try and get one of my many microphones to start actually transmitting sound! The cheapo rocketfish adapters have all produced weird results. Look forward to talking to you all again soon!
