to work for, which would you choose. Please also post your reasons as to why... For those who have no idea who embarq is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Embarq it is basically

So, I can either A) Work for Embarq as a contract to hire perm job and make 10.00 an hour or B) Work for Comcast for 12.25 an hour.

Both jobs are full time, 40 hours a week. I have been desperately searching for a job, and now I had 3 catches within days of each other, so now I have to figure out which one to say yes too, and which to say no too. Which one will be the golden egg, and which will be the rotten one?

It really depends. My cousin had the same decision to make as well, but with 2 other companies. One had a lower starting salary, but had more potential to grow and move up in the company. The other had a higher starting salary, but very limited in how much he could move up in the company, seeing as it was a much smaller company. In the end, he chose the first company.

I'm not sure if this pertains to the two companies that you are looking at, but I hoped it helped.

All of this is Technical Support, people with internet issues, and other technical issues.

So you actually did work at Comcast sunshyne?

Umgala told me his Grandma works for sprint since the 1960s so I am leaning towards that too. It may be a lower pay rate, but if it is a much more stable/better job, then I will take the pay cut.

  9. is there a neither option?

no because I need a job, and they are offering full time 40 hours a week.

  11. Well then I vote comcast simply because im one of their customers and it would be nice to have someone who would actually provide decent customer support somewhere in that evil conglomeration of a telecom company.

Yeah due to a thread below here, I am going to choose Embarq, because that sounds like a lot of pissed off people that will be cancelling comcast because of that.
