Actually, I'm not an anime geek or anything (I think Canadian animation is the best in the world tbh) but I think this is pretty f*cking awesome. It's never going to kill real pop stars, but I think it's a welcome addition for some really fun shows. Living pop stars aren't exactly the most legitimate of artists to begin with anyway All I can say is; hey, they laughed at Robert Moog. It's the future, baby! Embrace it!
I would rather see a real person scanned in then projected out there, but this is still pretty cool I mean look at that hair...how it flows. dont like vocaloid though =P
Only once and it was super expensive that's why they stopped doing it. Although they joked they could have a concert in every city on the world at the same time. Here's the video, EDIT: Meh, can't embed here's the link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-AhYnjKEzs&feature=related
Miku no Hi Kanshasai - 39's Giving Day was the recent one. I have the bluray of it and the soundtrack :3
I would happily pay a hefty price to see a hologram performance. If Gorillaz do another I'm without doubt going to do my best to go. Also really liked the Miku no Hi Kanshasai one but wasn't so taken by the music, none the less would still love to go see it ^_^
The concert is 2 hours long and features not only Miku. Matroskas are available around the usual places.
Gorillaz would be awesome to go see, ive been to 1 concert before cause my sisters friend bailed and so she gave me the ticket and ride to it lol. but on this Gorillaz just got to the rap and kinda sad they had 2 people come out to do it -.-
The entire band was behind the screen playing the music. Damon's always wanted the focus to be on the music not the band and it's members.
Pure win, anyone else notice how quiet that concert was, I much prefer that than any concert in the usa. Going to a concert in the us... you can't hear yourself think because it's so loud.
yes..the whole point of the gorilaz is the collaboration with famous artist. I imagine those were very famous rappers...De La Soul, Bootie Brown, Pharcyde,Neneh Cherry, Martina Topley-Bird, Roots Manuva, MF DOOM, Ike Turner,D12 and other greats from other genres. here is a great example of how he stays in the background..you dont see his face till the end of the concert
Circus Du Soleil is doing it as well with the Michael Jackson performance they will be doing. I am thinking about going to go see it in Vegas Dec 11.
Once they perfect the software it will be an awesome music tool though, in fact, they could use it for a lot of things...games, movies, user interfaces...the potential in vocaloid is awesome imo. The vocaloid is the coolest part of the show, I think. It plays well to the crowd and shows the vast potential it has as a production tool. The light show is neat, but it's not a hologram, they're just using a matte glass screen and projecting onto that. It's the same thing they do in the haunted mansion at Disneyland. This is the most sophisticated hologram ever made, and it refreshes at half a frame per second: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2010/11/101103141527.htm Sorry, but we're not there yet!
