Finally after selling my Z77 rig, 2 guitars, drumset, and picking up a couple extra shifts at work I was able to order all my new parts. I ordered parts slowly over the past few months - one or two parts at a time and as of last night after a trip and long wait at the UPS hub picked up my last remaining part. I should be done building it late tonight after work then tweaking my overclock and software tomorrow.

So until all that is done - here's the part list. Ill post a couple of pictures probably Friday night.

    CPU: 4670k
    Motherboard: ASUS Impact
RAM: Mushkin Blackline Ridgeback 2x4GB 1600
    GPU: eVGA GTX770 2GB
    PSU: Seasonic x650
    Case: Silverstone TJ08E
    SSD: Samsung 840 Pro 120Gb
Cooling: Corsair H80i with SP120 QE

    Thanks for reading.

    No, no. Thank you.

Looks like a nice solid build. You should take some pictures next to a couple different objects so we can see just how tiny the whole thing really is.

PSU has a horrible coil whine even when not booted up (just switched on).

Case was a bitch to work in, H80 almost didn't fit with the mitx board cause the tubing is hitting the memory. Thick radiator I guess wasn't ideal due to size and case layout. Also couldn't do push/pull without covering up the majority of the motherboard.

But I got POST first try, all memory is recognized, GPU is recognized, blah blah. Post pics tomorrow night after work. Sleepy time.

Samsung is and always has been the best for reliability, and have always been great on speed too for their generation the drive is released in. Samsung's primary market for SSDs has been the enterprise. Only recently have they moved more into consumer space (while using the same controller and NAND)

Our builds are very similar we will have to do a benchmark comparison.

You could get some low-profile modules, like the Crucial Balistix LP, if you think it's going to be a problem.

Powerful little system you have there. Looks super clean and pretty tight! How has the overclocking been going? I found with my 3570k that the quick OC with AI Suite was pretty damn close to what has been stable in the BIOS so far.

Got a question for you Sog, or anyone I guess. I just noticed the fan on the H80 is pulling rather than pushing. Hasnt it been shown in nearly all situations than a push setup is a little bit cooler?

Check out martinliquidlabs for an in depth look at push vs. pull vs. sandwich vs. XXX.

It looks like a degree or two difference between push or pull in favour of push. IMO that isn't a big deal for 99% of the people out there that are overclocking. When I get my H320 in a week or so I will be setting it up as pull for one reason, cleaning. When in push any dust that gets in the case and is exhausted/taken in through the rad will build up between the rad and the fan. It makes it a bit annoying to clean. If you set it up so air is pulled through the rad then you will get build up of dust on the opposite side of the rad and all you need to do is pull out the vacuum cleaner instead of dismantling the rad. If you want to be a bad ass push/pull wins but barely, not enough to justify the extra cost for most.

Yup, super easy cleaning. Another reason I just went pull.

Only a few degree difference, also - if you would have felt the tension in the tubing trying to fit that thing in there I just wanted it in and secured.

I'm at 4.2ghz stable 1.2V, max 100% load on LinX and P95 CPU temp was 62-65. My 3570k at 4.5ghz stable at 1.25V max was around 72-75 under same tests.

I'm extremely happy with my temps and how clean the inside is.
