I need a wireless mic that will work well with my PC. I tried a Bluetooth adapter from RocketFish and a Jabra headset last night. Needless to say I couldn't get anything to work correctly and tech support was no help at all. I tried several different headsets and some would connect but not transmit some wouldn't connect at all. At this point I'm pretty disenfranchised with the whole "Bluetooth" thing.

I don't need speakers I just need a every day average mic that will transmit 10 feet to my PC reliably. I've done search after search and come up with nothing that seems to fit my purposes. The BT thing really should have worked. Since I tried two different headsets I think the problem might have been in the BT dongle for the PC. The weird thing was that it worked, once, for about 20 minutes and then never worked again.

Even if I had to go to the old fashioned lapel mic with a box that plugged into the mic port that would be ok if it actually worked. I saw one REALLY cheap on Amazon but by all of the reviews I'm too gun shy to buy it. I bought some cheapo wireless lapel mics once..... once.

Links to products that YOU USE and can say would work fine with Windows 7 would be most appreciated. Again, all I need is a mic. I don't need a headset speaker.

If you have a desktop, i would try a wireless card with bluetooth built in rather than a dongle.

I think it has more to do with the very bad driver situation for Bluetooth on desktops than anything else. Why do you need wireless? Could you get away with a $2 extension cable to run to a headset for sitting farther away?

I suppose I could, not very practical though. I'd have to drill a hole in the floor and run the wire under the floor and back up where I sit. With a 2 year old there is no way in hell I'd leave 10 feet of exposed wire attached to my computer laying in the direct path of her playroom.

I want a wireless solution. I know a wireless solution exists, just need to find it.
