Heya guys, just wanted some advice, I'm interested in getting a full band game, I'm more leaning towards GH:WT because I played GH3, but I heard Rock Band is much better. I was wondering if anyone could give me their opinions/suggestions?

Thanks in advanced, btw I'm an awesome singer so if you need me for a XoO band then I'm up for it.

well if u want to solo it alot, go GH for sure and the graphics are better and songs (IMO) but if u want something that can entertain friends and stuff, def Rock Band but RB is quite a bit more exp from what ive seen. Hope that helps.

Rock Band has the greater song selection and they pump out more songs per week.

I can't really think of a reason to get GH/WT unless you REALLY wanted one of their exclusives. RB song selection is just soooo much bigger than ghwt.

Was thinking about GH:WT just for Hotel California tbh, I haven't even checked RB2's track list yet.

If I buy the GH:WT full band set, can I use the drums/guitar/mic with RB2 or vice versa?

Could just buy one of the full band sets, and get the other game separately.

The GH:WT guitar is the best of all the fake plastic instruments. i haven't played RB enough to compare the actual gameplay though.

I was curious too, and found this compatibility chart. It looks like GH:WT has the instruments that work on all the games.

GH does have cross compatibility benefits...but the song selection isn't that great.

If you question is which game to get I would say get Rock Band. If your question is which instrument set to get I would suggest trying them out first. I prefer the RB stuff myself.

    I prefer GH.

Rockband has a bigger track selection due to new track releases (that you pay for), but not necessarily a better track selection, imo. The RB difficulty curve isn't as challenging, and I find the fret chart to be weird (though a lot of people see the fret chart the other way around). The interface for RB looks better graphically, but the notes are too small and that's a major annoyance.

Was sort of asking both questions in one, I've been told to get the Guitar Hero instruments, but get the Rock Band game, I guess I'll end up getting both games anyway, just a matter of finding out which isntruments are the best.

If you play by yourself, get GH:WT. With people over Rock Band is easier to pick up. It will have 500 songs by the end of 2008.

RB2 supposedly scaled the difficulty so its harder. GH doesn't scale properly, IE they just throw random notes in just to make it difficult. I prefer better scaling then actual harder difficulty. If you want to try something difficult try a real guitar =p.

Rock Band is the superior game there aren't many reasons I could think of that would make me get GH over RB. GH:WT is a good first step, but they need to make a few changes before they can compete with RB.

For instruments theres no way to find out until you actually try them out. BTW regardless of which set you get, buy an extended warranty/replacement plan on the set if at all possible(best buy). The toy instruments are still toys and will break down. Rock Band does has a 60 day replacement warranty.
