    Hey guys,

I have quite a dilemna for MMORPG gaming :

I'm using my G13 with a logitech 710 mouse (with 6 buttons on the thumb). The thing is, those buttons quite kill my shoulder muscles at some point.

The G13 is alright but i'm not super strong for moving + pressing buttons with my left hand and i can't use the right hand on it.

    So, i was wondering :

How do you guys play mmorpgs ? Ya'll have a razer naga or you manage to click skills on the keyboard ?

I was thinking of getting this kb (i don't like razer products anymore somehow) :

It seems good for mmos but what would make it different from my current saitek (which is half dead lol) ?

    TIA

KB and g600 but to be honest my left wrist is pretty much shot so I don't play for more then a couple hours at a time anymore.

I used to just hit number buttons on my keyboard and was decent enough at MMOs like everyone else, as everyone had the same way of doing it. Then they came out with those MMO mice with buttons on the side and that is what I use now. Dont think I can ever go back to playing an MMO without one. My 2nd Naga has now started failing so I just bought a Redragon M901 last week and I like it a lot. Smaller like the Naga (Logitech G600 was way too fat in my hands) but with nice button positioning. The only thing I dont like about it is there is no forward and back button. I re-bound the DPI +/- keys to be my forward and back but they are in kinda a weird position. Either way, so far it is the best MMO mouse I have used yet, and it is pretty cheap. IDK if it would work for you, I dont understand how you are somehow straining your shoulder but if you are then I dont think any mouse would work right for you...

That Logitech keyboard looks really nice for gaming though. I have been wanting to get a keyboard with individual LED lighting for each key that can be programed like that, but I have been holding out for Tesoro to release their Colada keyboard in the "spectrum" model with the individual LEDs. I really want to get a full aluminum keyboard like that, but Tesoro told me it was supposed to be out by now so if it doesnt come soon Ill probably just get that Logitech one.
I currently use a Microsoft Sidewinder X4 that I got on sale for $35. It has been a really great keyboard and is very well built. Kinda sad that Microsoft stopped making them really but I fell like they were just too unpopular because the normal price was pretty high.

Yeah i use a G602 wit G13 and Saitek but i really can't thumb click anymore unless i play for, like a hour, it's too taxing on the shoulder.

The thing is using the number buttons on the keyboard would be the suck because you have to remove your hand from the mouse when you do so.

Unless someone finds a way to move without using the mouse in a MMO, it seems unsolvable.

Most people use the row of numbers above the letters, so they remove their hand from WASD and thus dont move when casting skills, but they can still click targets and move the view and all that. Or, if they need to move and cast they move around and click skills on the skillbar with the mouse and use buttons like tab to target different enemies or allies.

But I still dont understand how clicking with your thumb stresses your shoulder. I am clicking around and stuff right now and I dont seem to be using any shoulder muscles at all.

It's like the top of the arm before it reaches the shoulder, only happens with thumb buttons, not the lef & right click (which stress the wrist).

would need a keyboard that allowed to do mouselook or the Oculus, that'd solve the problem but i already got neck pain haha.

You could try out the M901 I posted, the buttons look much lower than your current mouse so maybe that will help you click them without using anything but your thumb muscles.

Yeah i'll try and see with the 910 keyboard how it goes, it'll have more buttons than the G13.

"Kickass" MMORPG players seem to use the mouse thumb buttons just for CD abilities that are not used often, i guess they have 10 fingers in the left hand

move your left hand from standard WASD, to using ESDF for movement, creates a lot more easy to reach buttons for skills, QWAZXCVBRTG 12345 all with CTRL SHIFT and ALT modifiers, plenty of room for all MMO keybinds these days.

I also use back and forward buttons on mouse with CTRL/Shift/Alt modifiers where allowed by keybind rules, and even left and right mouse button with modifiers.

just changing the keybind layout could help, maybe no need for new hardware.
