Hey guys, the GoTM for February is Lord of the Rings: Online! For those of you who don't know, LOTRO is a F2P MMORPG. The forum section will be up soon.

We will be playing on the Firefoot server. I personally don't know a whole lot about the game, so discuss anything else (dark/light faction (if there are any)) here (until the section is made up)

here is the page to sign up.

The TS channels will be made momentarily.

Damn i hate games where they advertise it as f2p but you need to buy packs. I tried ddo and it was great the first 7 levels until half the instances were blocked

When I first played this game when it was P2P, I found that the beginning areas didn't have much direction and found myself bored rather quickly. Do you guys still like this game? Should I check it out again? I'm a huge LoTR fan so I was disappointed when I didn't like the game. :(

I played this for a few years until it went ftp. The pvp is a cruel joke where there is no incentive other than a rank/bragging rights for mindlessly grinding rank and its boring boring boring. The pve however, at least in the raid dungeons, is top notch excitement with some of the most creative bosses/encounters I've experienced in any mmo. I had a max level guardian and minstrel that I passed onto a friend that still plays. :)
