I found this a pretty interesting watch: Its about corporations drilling for natural gas in Pennsylvania, New York and the possible negative effects it could have on both the environment and the health of the people who live nearby.
Not watching that but I read long ago about scientists hypothesizing that fracking was causing hundreds of minor earthquakes in a region where it was being done a lot. I don't know if it was ever confirmed. The pursuit of oil and natural gas is the bane of our world.
Fracking simply causes minor earthquakes, no biggie right? Its the results of those minor earthquakes near communities that cause the big problems. When you make a communities water supply unable to be used, and undrinkable, that is where the problems come in. The U.S. should have started the transition to a solar powered nation around 1975; however we did not, so now we are fucked for a transition phase.
I did a presentation on this for the EU using USA as an example. Firstly, this argument is not about the mini quakes, that's nothing. The issue is the severe irreversible damage that is done to the environment. I'm not talking about the quakes, but the chemicals injected into the earth's crust. Also, there was a bill changed by Bush that basically exempt any liability of the companies drilling that caused damage to peoples health. Quote from presentation: I'll throw in a few facts too, because I'm quite surprised you don't know just how serious this matter is, even though its destroying your land / people. A good documentary to watch is Gasland, although its completely biased and some of it is blown out of proportion the principle and effects are correct. Seriously, watch the film.
Check out some of Tesla's work. We could have free energy for everyone, but big business won't have any of that, too much control to be had without it. A world based on dependency is the goal.
