not very practical..but I dont care..I want it The Florida bike shop, Parker Brothers Choppers has built 10 of street-legal Tron Light Cycles, each bike features a steel frame, fiberglass bodywork and a V-twin engine from a Suzuki TLR1000, brakes and other functional bits in there required to make them street legal. The bike weighs 474 pounds and is just over 100 inches long and 23 inches wide. The shop is selling them for $55,000 a pop, now only four Light Cycles left. Though the bike looks like it drove straight off the movie screen, it’s not a replica or recreation since the Light Cycles in both Tron films were virtual. “We basically used the images we could get off the web in order to make the bike,” said Halverson. “Keep in mind, no one ever made this bike before.” Watch the video of of some of the test drives.
Im not one for flashy gay lights on cars, but they really should add some neon lights to it as well to give it a more TRON effect.
Yeah I agree. Damn.. how difficult or uncomfortable would it be to ride a bike like that? Doesn't seem plausible to use the bike daily.. least not for long periods of time. ~Drag.
yes it definitely was not that uncomfortable in the movies they actually had more of a sitting style facing forward there wasn't that big of a reach to the handles it was literally right in front of them, I'm sure it could be done in a more car format where you would have 2 wheels in the back and one in the front but that back two look like one. Similar design of the spyder but looks two wheeled.
Yet somewhere, out there in the world there was a demand for it, thus causing the project to be made, completed, and sold. Or so we think, its sad though.
ROFL I just can't get over those pegs hahahahahahaha How the hell are you supposed to use pegs like that?? Do you just hold your feet up and pray you don't knock the brake after your legs get tired? Look at their arms!! Fully extended and the bars are so far apart you'd have to really yank on them to get any decent turn, especially with tyres half a meter wide. They're like totally spread-eagle on their stomachs! You'd get no leverage at all, I would think there would actually be a danger of falling off the side of the bike while you're trying to manhandle that beast around a corner............... The people riding it look freaked out anyway, look at how they have to walk it! Kaneda's bike is wayyyyy cooler anyway, at least as fake bikes go.
It DOES turn. It just doesn't appear that way. You can see for yourself if you look closely. Bikes only turn the front wheel, this one does as well. If they are street legal they MUST turn. The only negative thing is that it looks a bit uncomfortable and the lack of lights.
If I had the money I would buy one of these. I probably wouldnt ride it either I would just want it to show off. Im sure everyone else who bought one plans to only ride it a couple times. The bike is a collector's item not a daily use vehicle, things dont have to be practical for people to buy them. If all we ever bought were practical things then the whole world would drive a smart car
