Hey I need some help, I tried the troubleshooting steps on MS website and nothing works. Every time I tried to allow windows to automatically install Window 7 service pack 1 for x64- based systems (KB976932) it fails. I also tried the 1.9 GB direct download and it fails. I even tried to search for the preleased one or if its been already installed to remove it and its not installed.....

So for the love of god can some one help lol

The tool you speak up the hotfix or what ever installs correctly but still doesnt fix the issue and windows keeps telling me there an update for (KB976932) and it still fails. The error code is 80070490

The only time I couldnt install a service pack was on someone's system that was using a pirated copy of Windows and not a full retail disk.

No, just saying that is the only experience I have had with why Windows fails to install a service pack.
It is also possible that the service pack wont install because Alienware might ship with a volume license version and that licensing issue is causing a problem when the service pack does its check.
