This is a toughy, played 3 hours last night, wish they had a "miss the 3 hour tutorial" option. Some good upgrades from the 2nd game, and some downgrades, shopping is a bit of a pain in the neck now, you have to go to the stand/mannequin that the item is you want, rather than to a vendor. If you have played 2 though it is almost the same game, just set a bit in the future, and on a similar theme from the way it is feeling. Spell and skill acquisition is different. From first play it feels a 7/10, but I think its one of those games you could pick up for 30 minutes and end up being there 2 hours later.
After being a big fan of Fable 1 and 2, Fable 3 was kind of disappointing. It has the same kind of charm as the others, but has several flaws keeping from being as amazing as the others. More specifically, I'll list the things that I found to be unimpressive: - The jobs are ridiculously easy and all function the same - Lute hero is also really annoying because what you play sounds horrible the higher your multiplier - The glowing trail commonly glitches - The dog's path AI is slow and gets stuck more often than in Fable 2 - You can't choose what expressions to use - You only ever have 2 choices (one good; one evil) - Neither you nor your dog change with morality, level, etc at all - There are very few weapons in the game - Low sense of progression - Ranged combat is still overpowered compared to magic/melee - The slowmo cam triggers much too often and can't be changed; it ends up being annoying because you'll be stuck in slowmo for ~5 seconds while getting attacked I could go on, but it makes me sad...
