It will be very hard to find socket 1366 boards nowadays. Since by todays tech standards, they are ancient and out of stock in most stores.
But id suggest Asus brand or gigabyte.

Also if that i7-930 were compatible with x79 mobo you would buy that mobo? I mean the price on that x79 board is 400$. For that much you can buy 4770k cpu + very decent mobo.

    UPD.

Hell I bought a 4k computer in 2010 and still can play things on max only had to upgrade the graphics card so far lol. But my ex paid for it lol

Is there any particular reason you insist on getting a Socket 2011?

    I second this.

Are you using your pc just for gaming?

^^^ This. EVGA is a great hardware cmpany who knows there stuff, but their hardware engineers are nowhere near ASUS engineers. On top of that, their bios development team is one of the worst in the business. Even ASRock is better than EVGA and that is saying something.

You can pick up a 4930K for probably close to $350 in another week or two on Ebay. Intel is having it's deals right now to special retail employees so people will be picking them up for $200 and then offloading them on Ebay to make money but still be way cheaper than official MSRB.

The new Intel is a socket 1150 processor, which is mainstream platform. Socket 2011 is the high end enthusiast platform and the new CPUs wont work on it. The 2011's just barely got their release of the 4930K not very long ago. Socket 2011 is a generation(ish) behind the mainstream in core architecture.

The only reasons to go with the higher end socket 2011 stuff would be:

you have lots of extra money.
you for some reason need a lot of extra RAM.
you are running a giant multi-GPU setup.
you got an amazing deal on a CPU and MB.
you want to spend a lot more and just not worry about any upgrades for quite a long time.

I doubt you fall into any of those categories Twilight (except maybe the first one or last one) because I know the kind of stuff you do. The mainstream system will suit you just fine and is much cheaper. You should wait another month and pick up a Haswell refresh CPU being released along with a decent socket 1150 motherboard.

Well I do have the money to spend. I can get the board for about 200 and I do not want to upgrade for a bit lol. Currently the computer I have is about to be 5yrs old so about every 5 yrs I like to switch to something new.

Ya didnt know about the Haswell refresh CPU's till now since I thought Intel was working on some new CPU's by another name. I am not looking to buy right away was looking into my optinions.

Also would have to find a tower that everything will fit into correctly. Currently I use a Alineware PC and know most likely I can not reuse the tower and I also own a Lvl 10 since my bf got it from Frys due to a friend of his working there but the tower is meh in my opinion kinda a eye sore

If yall would suggest the best motherboard out there I would be grateful. Iv been looking at the current options some seem great and others im iffy on since some sites over the same boards have different information or not the full amount... hell a few I saw were only higher priced bc they looked cool and were crap compaire to the less pretty ones lol. I am looking for something that I wouldnt have to upgrade for sometime and can support High Gaming RAM.

Frys is limited on there selection unless I special order it at the friends location but even he told me it can take time and that sometimes they wont do it at all.

Well, what you want to do is aim for a Socket 1150, and look into features on the motherboard. You pretty much can't go wrong with ASUS, but rule of thumb is the more money you spend, the more feature-rich the board is.

The real power comes from your choice of CPU (and other components not really mentioned in this thread).
Basically, a Socket 1150 motherboard with an unlocked CPU (K versions) would save you from having to upgrade for a while yet, especially if you get into overclocking (you can get those up to a pretty beastly speed relatively easily).
That said, if you plan on doing 3-4 way SLI or equivalent, you may want to look into a LGA2011, since the PCIe slots often allow faster speeds with multiple cards (granted, I have no clue just how big of a difference this makes). But in that case, it doesn't sound like money would be an issue and you might as well go with one of the "Extreme" CPUs etc. :>

I got a 2011 and a locked CPU a while back because it was a pretty good deal at the time, and I kind of wanted to go SLI at some point, but I regret that now since the card I have is pretty much out of stock everywhere, because of of the new generation of cards. :/

Well Intel is releasing a refresh of Haswell that makes it a bit more efficient, and also releasing a high end "overclocker's" Haswell core called Devil's Canyon. It is just a special binned Haswell core. Intel also just released Ivy-E which is that 4930K on the socket 2011, and it has more cores but is of an older architecture.
Intel is also currently working on something called Broadwell, which is the next core design. It wont be out till very late 2014 or sometime 2015. There are a lot of changes coming in Broadwell and the next CPU after that. Things are about to get quite turbulent in the PC hardware world. We'll see who wins.

Ya broadwell was the CPU I was referring to. I notice with the new Haswell are a bit cheaper then the current ones on the market which is pretty great. I also read they think the Broadwells might be cheaper then when Haswell 1st released

So all in all I should look into a 1150 motherboard
