EvE Online has been described by some people writing for MMORPG.COM as an expansion of itself... meaning that it so often updated and improved, that some consider it a new game even today. I will be the first to admit that CCP (the developer of EVE Online) is one of the most receptive development teams when it comes to listening to their customers/subscribers that I have ever seen. Every year, CCP puts on a EVE Online FanFest, where Players get to go to Iceland for a few days to see presentations about the state and future development of EVE Online, and where the Players can interact with the development staff. I find this very well done and great customer relations. [gets off his soapbox] Anyway, Ten Ton Hammer's Website had some very interesting webpages today, talking about what was presented at this year's FanFest. I thought I would publish the links here for people who may wish to see them. EVE Online By The Numbers - Some basic stats about EVE Online. DUST 514 Overview and Gameplay Video - A three part video about planetary settlements and the console FPS coming out later next year. Good ingame video that may interest the FPS'ers who have been waiting for a FPS MMO. I can see that I will be caught between this and APB... if I buy a console to play DUST 514. "New Eden" to Provide Communication, Organization in EVE's Universe - Talks a little about the new sideboard web based game interface being developed to be released early next year. This interface allows players to check out things involving their characters, but not actually login to the game. I am really impressed with how CCP is implementing most of their updates and expansions... slow and steady. I still say that no matter what one may think of the gameplay of EVE Online, CCP has done well in the last 6 years to make it right... and they are far from satisfied and want to make it even better. So anyway, thought this may help some see what EVE Online is up to and hopefully some may even give it a try. I wish All well! Lex.
Here is another group of three videos from FanFest 2009 on Ten Ton Hammer that discuss the next EVE Online Expansion 'Dominion' (due out on 01Dec09), New Eden (the web based interface with EvE), and upcoming stuff CCP is working on... EVE Online Dominion Expansion Features & Post-Dominion "Wishlist" Again, I am sorry if this was posted elsewhere, but I cannot always see the content within some posts because of firewall issues.
