Guild Wars 2 ApplicationHow old are you? 32 In-Game Name? Eumaeos Romanus Do you have Teamspeak 3 and a mic? Yes What is your prefered playstyle? Both What kinds of activities are you interested in? The WvWvW model in GW2 looks incredible. I played a lot of GW in the early days, and I particularly enjoyed GvG. While I wasn't with XoO at the time I admired the organizational efficiency and the approach to the game. Had a lot of fun whenever we played against an XoO guild, because we always knew win or loose it would be a good match. The guild I had played with has esssentially dissolved, so I am looking for a new group to run with, and I'd like it to be XoO. Previous Gaming Experience: Long time gamer. I'm probably a bit long in the tooth by comparison to the majority of members here. I cut my gaming teeth on the Commodore 64 (google it if you have no idea) and played console games heavily most of my childhood. Some of myfavorites through the years included the early Final Fantasy games, Metroid, Mortal Kombat, GTA, Golden Eye(007), Diablo and GW. I don't do FPS games often anymore, and usually get invested in only one game at a time due to limited time resource. Why did you choose XoO: I am familiar with XoO from having GvG and HA (at the time ToPK) experience against them in GW1. I was always impressed with the consistent quality from such a large organization, and as my "home guild" essentially disbanded I was hoping to become a part of something more permanent. Why do you think you'll be a good fit? I am an efficient and well organized player who enjoys the dynamics of team building and division of labor. Interpersonal communication is one of my stronger traits, and I think a larger Guild like XoO affords me the opportunity to have the most fun and affect the most impact on the PvP community of GW2. What will you contribute to the guild? Perhaps I was a bit long winded above and already addressed this to an extent, but other members of XoO will find me eager to assit them in what ever they are undertaking so long as I am able to provide assistance in a servicable fashion. I'm quick to laugh, and enjoy the company of others whether it be new friends or old. I am also willing to acknowledge that there needs to be a balance between the Chiefs and Indians out there and will lead when necessary, but shut my mouth and follow when being an Indian is what's needed. Localization: NA Do you have a referral? I'm afraid I have no personal referral. A little bit about yourself? I'm a bit deadpan and people often find me a bit brooding or intimidating at first. I tend to listen more than I talk and though I have a hard time understanding why people sometimes are unnerved by this. Those who spend the time to know me ultimately find that I am quick to laugh and joke around when prompted, but generally maintain a quasi-professional serious demeanor otherwise. Activity level? 20+ Do you have a high speed internet connection and a good computer? Yes Have you applied to the GW2 usergroup? Yes
Hi there, Eumaeos! We actually aren't recruiting for Guild Wars 2 quite yet, but if you like I can recruit you into the GW1 division for the duration. Or, if there is another XoO game you're interested in, feel free to apply to that! Just let me know! Don't worry about the application, it's a bit of a fault on our part too. Our GW1 app has vanished!
I'd like to hop in to the GW1 guild to at least introduce myself to whatever hold overs are still playing it. I've been playing GW1 since the open beta, but haven't logged a lot of time since the PvP scene got so stagnant. My IGN is Myrmidian Eudoros if you would be willing/able to shoot me an invite. Thanks!
Do you have any experience in playing Ranked PvP? Looking at the application, didn't see anything with emphasis on competitive PvP, and we are looking for people that are competitive and want to strive to be better.
In early GW I ran lots of GvG, but GW was my first forray into true online PvP. I liked the GvG format better than HA/Tombs, which I never really did get into. My guild was never elite level, but we spent a lot of time floating in between 100 and 200 ranked back in the peak game population times. Depending on the meta at any given point in time I ran a lot of different builds because we were a small guild with about 5 truly core members that were always into GvG. Perhaps I was loyal to a fault and should have left the guild for a higher level group, but having been with the same group since betas I couldn't bring myself to jump ship. The reason why I am applying to XoO is that I enjoy 'competetive' PvP more than any other part of the game. I think XoO has the potential to provide an environment that will allow me to improve my skills, which means winning and having more fun. I understand that there will likely be applicants with higher quality experience than myself, bu "people that are competetive and want to strive to be better." echoes exatly where my head is at and why I am here.
At this point my typical times where I can be in game are usually in the early am (04:00 - 06:00 EST except Wednesday), and after 20:00 (except Tuesday). I can keep Y! Messenger up when I'm at work if that would be a reasonable and convenient way to conduct your interview. Alternatively, I could just jump onto the TS server (need the info) when I'm at my desk and you could join me at your leisure. I'm the lone soldier at this location for the week, so my being on TS won't bother anyone.
