Perhaps XoO could get an early application into the beta test?

Gonna say it right now, Elder Scrolls doesn't transfer well to online play

Can't fault your thoughts there. Most of the things I like about it depend on not having other people to make a hash of it, and if they're basically taking WoW and stamping Elder Scrolls geography and races on it, everything I liked about TES4 and 5 (there are things I didn't like, too) is gone except for the lore.

First-person combat made TES interesting. It's not a make-or-break for me, but the 3rd-person hotbar stuff certainly isn't attractive because I already play an MMO that does that, and it's a better game than ESO could ever hope to be.
Classes, experience - already in some TES games but the free-form class mechanics aren't something they should get rid of, because there's no reason they can't work in an MMO.
Traditional MMORPG progression mechanics - that's the killer. All of the TES games require you to spend a while to make your character as powerful as it possibly can be, but there's no compulsion to push for it because you're not competing against other players. In ESO, you inherently will be. Even if it's PvE only, which doesn't make sense, you still have to get the best gear to compete for raid spots or whatever they're doing for "traditional MMORPG progression". The result is the antithesis of the do-whatever-you-feel-like gameplay that made TES popular in the first place.

Honestly, if they want to make an MMO that appeals to most of Morrowind/Oblivion/Skyrim's audience, they'd be well advised to take a whole bundle of pages from the GW2 book for player scaling mechanics and co-operative gameplay, throw in a world-conquest model inspired by EVE and Darkfall for PvP, and for the sake of all that's holy leave first-person perspective combat in.

Wait, did I just describe Planetside in Tamriel?

    Well, yeah. Do that.
