I moved your post to a new thread as it seems a bit too interesting to be in an otherwise dead thread. Looks promising. Although I am more curious about this megaserver thing and PvP. They say they will have PvP, but it seems like it draws from GW2 and DAoC which means less hardcore PvP which means a more sad Kyoji, but meh will have to see. I do like the skill based combat system and while there are classes you can mix your character up quite a bit it seems. Rogue healers? lolwut!
I bet TESO rvr is going to be the same as GW2. Just a bone, thrown out to pvpers just to get their attention. So imo your best bet would be to view this game as a no target based pve mmo.
I just can't see The Elder Scrolls as an MMO. I don't know why, but it just doesn't sit well with me. Hopefully I'll be proven wrong and they succeed, but I just don't see it.
I notice not much is mentioned about 3rd person mode. In the review he quickly says it is possible but doesn't give many details. If 3rd person mode isn't in the game in the same respect as the normal elder scroll games then that will be a huge disappointment for me. Otherwise it looks great!
The only way I'd play it is if they keep the HUD minimalistic, unlike the plethora of other MMOs, littering the screen with all sorts of text, icons, and other garbage. The Elder Scrolls games are known for having minimal HUDs, which make the action and graphics more eminent and beautiful. I just hope the TES MMO follows that tradition.
This is something I would really be interested in. I think my limited game time would really make this suck for me. Still it looks really awesome.
I am defiantly going to try this game out. I've always loved the Elder Scrolls series and I am a big fan of MMOs be it Success or Fail I will play. Just looking at the video it looks like it will be really good.
i am soooooo going to focus on this game... after tera disapointed most of the playes that where looking for a good gaming experiance i think this might get me back in to gaming. im going to put efford in finding as much info on this game and see if this can be XoO's next place to conquer.
Here is a short video hitting several of the most common misconceptions about The Elder Scrolls Online, explaining both the inaccurate belief and the truth of the matter
I love some Elder Scrolls.. so if they keep pretty close to home on the game design and if feels a good bit like a multi-player ES.. I am certainly going to give it a good try.
Watching that video just wanted me to play it more. Looks like they have taken from Darkfall, GW2, WoW, EVE (somewhat), as well as the original Elder Scrolls series. The only game that could beat this would be Archeage Online if they ever get a publisher.
Well with the information we have available to us now, it seems like they have the core of ESO the mirror its action-rpg predecessor. I am interested so far but I want to see how this develops. Maybe I should take a trip down to Baltimore and see how far I can go.
I love Skyrim, and would love a game that was "Skyrim, but with real people". Based on this trailer though, it just looks like a bore to me. I think I may just be over my MMORPG phase.
