http://edeneternal.aeriagames.com/ The above is basically the link, as of right now its in closed beta... but I got an email and joined in on a whim. While its "closed" thats more or less a lie... its pretty much open and anyone can join but there is a limit. The level cap is 40... meaning no matter what you do, you can't go above 40, also it cuts off the level 38-40 zone meaning the end game is pretty cramped... but anyway. I just wanna bring this some attention as I feel it could be a good game. It has guilds and what not. After guild level 3 you get to build a "town". Other guilds can visit it and what not. People can buy stuff and use your guild's town resources. Its like a bonus. You get guild levels by getting your guild some Fame... which are just repeatable quests (which although you have to pay a bit upfront to take them pay off in XP and money). The biggest feature I've enjoyed about this game so far is the fact that you can switch classes almost on the fly. There are 15 different classes, only about 10 are accessible in Closed beta, and one of them is a bitch to play cause its only weapon is available through craft it which takes about 300g (which is a lot). They break them down into 5 roles. Defense (TANK) which is Warrior and Knight and Templar(Not CB). Warrior is a def tank, while Knight is eva... Knight is technically better atm, cause defense is like a horrible stat and takes too much to do anything. It seems like a stupid idea to be a warr but each still has their perks and knights dont far outclass them. Melee DPS has Thief, Martial Artist [the pain in the cb class], and Blade Dancer (not CB). Thief is pretty fun and a very quick thing... I dont have high enough theif job to even change ot martial artist nor the money for his weapon... so moving on Ranged DPS has hunter, engineer and ranger(not cb). I have to say hunter is your standard fair, which gets a pet and all, but bows are a bit underwhelming. still a good class. Engineer is kinda broken and thats awesome. Engineer plays like if a hunter removed his pet but got some AoE control and debuffs. I enjoy engineer a bit more than hunter Healer has cleric, bard, and shaman (not cb). Cleric is your standard fair of a healer but also has enough nukes to level adequately.. Also makes one of the better AoE Farmers cause of his skills. Bard is better at AoE farming once the class gets set up. Bards and clerics are about the same thing but a bard gets a little less healing and more support buffs. They pair very well together in general. Lastly, Magic DPS has Mage, Illusionist and Warlock (not cb). Mage is fireball to face dps. nothing more can be said here [also my least fav cause i generally hate playing mages in MMOs]. Illusionist is a offensive party buffer with great single damage capabilities as well (mage has the AoEs... illusionists kinda dont.) Those are all my takes on the game. Right now if you want to find me, I am playing LostDreams on the Emerald Server. The channel doesn't matter so much as they all can communicate with each other. Just drop me a message and i'll be sure to help out when i can. I'm a level 40 (cap) as this point and I'm probably just going to be leveling up my classes anyway which isn't a big deal. I've hit all of the CB rewards except a full max (where you max all playable classes so far...) I am in a guild called Envy and this was mostly due to i didn't know of any XoO'ers playing and also CB is going to get wiped.. i wanted to ge ta feel for guilds and also fastest leveling from 38 to 40 at this point is guild quest turn ins... So yeah! >.> I hope i didn't do anything bad here.
It seems like they are trying to do an action based combat system similar to Vindictus and Dragons Nest. I wasn't able to find that specifically though is that what it's like or is it more tab targeting with splash dmg?
its pretty much kinda like wow. auto attacks and what not. cool downs on your bar etc etc. just its pretty fun to be able to change your dynamic on the fly. Being able to do pretty much everything helps out. While it pays off usually to focus (some of the better skills are higher in each class' levels)... There is nothing wrong in doing what I did, which is to be a jack of all trades. I've hit 30 in almost all but the MA class, and I have to say each one is different enough to be unique... but alas its like wow. Leveling is almost completely quest driven. If you dont do quests you wont level like ever (grinding isn't really an option when a monster gives you 900 exp but you need well over 100k... and thats only like level 10 or something stupid). but quests level you so quickly, and as long as there is quests each level takes about the same amount of time. Monsters dont take artificially longer for a long time. Its only with a weak Clvl that leveling takes sometime, and even then if you pump up the skills in the base area (since each set of classes has 5 basic skills between all of them, like all Magic DPS have fireball) to make it compensate until your clvl catches up. I'd try to play it while in the closed beta since well it'll be wiped and there are enough bonus... hell there is a contest you can win for only hitting level 10 which took me maybe two hours.
Well the Closed Beta ended and the open one will start soon... (Well the time hasn't started yet anyway). As it stands I think this is my MMO... I'd like to get some more opinions from others and well I think it has the ability to grow. OB is raising the cap to 50... which is still short of the level 70 that seems to be inferred by the class levels. Hopefully things will change from the closed beta... Stuff I noticed: Dungeons are better class exp than anything else. Probably due to increased rates to make them very attractive to run to people. There are 3-man and 5-man. 3 mans are generally short and can be done quickly 5-10 mins, While 5-man are generally kinda long.. like a 20 minute ordeal. The game also has a lot of repeatable quests so leveling isn't hard but over leveling tends to kill one's ability to get good class exp (class exp gets penalized if your higher aka green mobs give less xp) The guilds also seem to have a good reason to exist. Though I have to figure out if I can XoO Interested or not sooner than later.. Cause guild towns are boss, but only so many can be made "cheaply". Anyway, hope more people look at this. Oh and I managed to try out all classes in the CB that were available. So i can answer questions =x
I'll pass :\ I don't want a slightly tweaked WoW to many of them already IMO. I really don't like tab targeting for me to play another tab targeting game it has to be really good, something which I haven't seen yet (maybe ArcheAge).
I played to 38 in CB, loved every minute of it. Played to 33 in dragon nest also, so i will be playing Dragon nest also.
