I felt this just a short while ago..didnt think much of it..till i saw the news flash

christchurch has pop 350,000..the quake center was 10 miles away and 5 miles deep in lyttleton.

no news from the town of lyttleton yet...the highway tunnel to lyttleton is collapsed..
with the damage seen in christchurch..lyttleton must be in terrible shape

    news here

    or your local news

I was just in christchurch a few days ago..had a quake wake me up in the night.

Christchurch was just starting to recover from the last big quake..

this one was not as strong as the last one..but the damage is much worse

so many buildings already damaged from the september 7.4 quake..now collapsed..
more aftershocks already bringing more buildings down...
this quake was 6.4 but shallow..so its worse...

Wow that is some hardcore devestation :O

Normally there are not two large quakes this close together are there? I live in SO Cal where we have quakes, a couple big famous ones, but they are very few and far between. By far between, I mean decades pass between each major quake.

we had stayed there just last week...aftershocks are common with one waking us up.
we stay with friends when ever we go to christchurch, all are ok, thankfully.
Cant say the same for all their homes.

This is being classed as an aftershock of the 7.3 in spetember'10.

The death toll is at 65 and expected to rise.

Same here, just saw this on the news and came to check on doctorie.

Gald to see you are well man. They were showing footage and the quake looks absolutely ridiculous.

It actually reminds me that the San Andreas Fault is long over due for a slip and I live right on it. When it goes its gunna be no joke how raunchy it will be.
