Hey guys, I was chatting with a couple folks in TS tonight about Dolphin so I thought I would share the website. I'm not sure if this violates forum rules posting about a topic as controversial as console emulation software, so I apologize in advance if it needs to be deleted. I do not condone or endorse anything of this nature and bring it forward as a basis for discussion on current events. Dolphin is a Gamecube and Wii emulator that goes beyond the limits of the consoles and renders games in full HD and much higher graphics. You can even do crazy things like play the new Zelda with an xbox controller, all with lush 1080p visuals that put Wii to shame. It can also detect and utilize Wii remotes with a simple Bluetooth USB adapter. Here is their website, oh the horror that such a criminal software project can remain on the internet! Those evil pirates and their disregard for intellectual property is disgusting, poor Nintendo was already on it's knees! ook: http://dolphin-emulator.com/
Emulators are not illegal unless they use code/binaries from the device. Most emulators are running original code so they don't get in trouble. They never did figure out how to get a PS2 emulator working with out using the original binaries so all emulators require you to have your own PS2 and strip out the binaries yourself or find them through other means that they don't want to know about.
That's what I had thought, but last night I visited the Nintendo website and there is a large section where they claim it to be all illegal no matter the source of code origination. Oh well...Dolphin rocks though.
Emulators is fine. As long as it doesn't contain BIOS which are protected. It is the roms that are the legal trickery.
